really like this Roy. I input the times for each respective field and it calculated everything as expected. this is SOOO much easier than manually doing this.

it's swag but loses time if I'm properly understanding your description. basically, once you clip into the pipe and walk to the end, the piranha is still spawned in its upward motion and you gotta wait

Thread: 1-2 Clip Sprite discovery

Started by: RoyLTRoyLT

good work Roy. So what I could tell, the sprite takes on the following appearance for each clip:

clip #1=both his legs are together/vertical
clip #2=both legs are spread/horizontal like he's jumping over something
clip #3=his back leg is out but his front leg is vertical

thank you xerox. you are correct, there are loads unaccounted for there; I got the same time as you. I will go through and review the current queue and also add this into the existing ruleset

was this powerpak or everdrive? Im assuming powerpak

i apologize for the delay in responding to this xerox. ok, let's see here. If I'm looking in the same place you are, I'm showing a total of 6 frames or .167 seconds for peach screen til 9-1, all black screens. I'm guessing maybe that was considered negligible when putting the rules together, but I could be wrong

I'm looking at evad's run btw

I'm looking in to this now. I'll see what the other mods say since you did not load the save state. However, keep in mind it's at the discretion of the runner to keep their save state functionality enabled or not prior to a run. I would simply turn off the particular hotkeys/keyboard shortcuts that are mapped to saving/loading save states prior to a run if on emulator if you want to stay on the safe side. If on console, the same applies or you can just use the actual cart to avoid unintentionally setting/loading a save state.

@KingOf_JonnyBoy how do you clip into the pipe as small mario without dying to the piranha before exiting the pipe?
that was what I tried initially but resorted to using fire to avoid dying to the plant

I'm curious, has anyone tried this before? I was messing around with small mario and realized this would save time if mario didn't die to the plant. So, this is the end result of that same experiment with fire mario. enjoy

clip starts at 28 seconds in

While we are on the subject, on behalf of all the mods I would ask that you please delete your old PB submissions after you submit a time that is better. I am trying to go through the submissions now and there are several submissions that are candidates for deletion. Admittedly, I did not know how to do this when I first started speedrunning. There is an ellipses/3 dots in the upper right-hand corner of the window within your pending run window. Click that and simply select 'delete run' to delete old submissions that are slower than your most recent submission. thanks everyone

Thread: Slower Verification Times?

Started by: XelaSRLXelaSRL

I agree with darpey. I don't say much on here but this has been on my mind a lot lately. I have an analogy for what it's worth. When I started my first job, I was not completely competent in all the required tasks the position demanded. However, my boss gave me a 30 day probationary period to prove myself. Guess what happened? It motivated me to learn the required information to adequately tackle the position responsibilities, and they signed me on. moderation requests could be applied in the same fashion. I feel like this topic has been explored many times and each time I hear it discussed, I often do NOT hear grumbling or complaining, but earnest offerings of help that go seemingly unnoticed. In the least, why not give someone a probationary period. I just don't see that being such a difficult undertaking.
I personally love to teach and what a great opportunity it would be if someone was given the option of being mentored by a mod to help assist them. I just don't see how that could go wrong. thanks for your consideration of these comments and suggestions. I love this community and just want to continue seeing it grow. that's my two cents.
