Out of curiosity why do some people speedrun this game on Master? Aren't there more brown cars on higher difficulties making it actually harder than beginner? What's the benefit of playing on Master?

Computers are faster at the start. You can use that to your advantage to let them bump into you from behind for a speed boost to accelerate fast on the opener lap. On master you can get this speedboost faster.
