Cut a full 10 minutes off my last run, managed to get to Gwynth in 43 minutes. I'm certain I can do better if I switch up which babies I'm collecting.

So far it's 6 in LEQ, All 9 in QM, 4 in WQC.

Is it just me or is it faster to strafe and jump?

United Kingdom

I'm convinced it's the same speed, could be wrong though.

IIRC I tested it over a year ago by lining myself with a straight wall and timing

Anyone still around? Thinking about giving another go at this game.

England

Still around. Back to routing any% up to saving Gwynth.

What platform are you playing on?

England

For the moment I've got no choice but to emulate the PS2 version

I've played every version possible and I've come to the conclusion that the PS2 version is easily the best one for running. I've also been working on routing and about to submit a run on Car Quest. Once that's done, I'll be giving most of my time to Fur Fighters. I'm routing and practicing on an emulator, but I'll be making my official runs on actual PS2 hardware.

If you want to help me finished routing 100%, I can then turn around and help you trim the fat for an any% run.

England

I'm surprised nobody has run the full game yet.

I’ve been trying to get a 100% route through each individual level so I can then turn around and trim it down to a full any% run. It’s just such a long run though.

Hi everyone, I'm aware that the previous post was made 3 years ago. I am thinking about attempting speedruns for individual levels and I have a question. Do I have to eliminate all the enemies along with collecting all the babies and tokens in a level for my run to qualify under the 100% category, or is collecting all the babies and tokens enough?

United Kingdom

Hey, figured I'd reply since I'm still reasonably interested in this game. Personally, I'm not a fan of the 100% category being used for games without a % counter. I'd instead call this something like "All babies, tokens and cheats" instead of 100% so "All BTC" or maybe even just "All babies+tokens" so "All BT".

Just based on that paragraph, calling something "100%" can mean different things to different people since I would include the cheats (so beating all high scores in the television minigames is necessary) compared to another player who might not consider cheats necessary for full completion. Some might also consider it to be killing all enemies as well.

That being said, currently there are ZERO full runs of the game completed to any capacity, only IL's. The IL's I see only seem to consider tokens+babies since many of the enemies killed could just respawn if an accidental death occured.

That ALSO being said, the game is pretty much dead (if it was ever alive) and if you choose to be an active runner you could very easily request game moderator status from the site-wide admins and alter the rules as you see fit.

Yeah this game is pretty much free-for-all, whoever runs first can probably set the rules. I found issues with the in-game clock when running it a few years ago on emulator so I left it at just ILs. However now that I have a better PC, it's something I'm looking into again. Very happy to see 2 new names looking at this game btw! Play it!

https://speeddemosarchive.com/FurFighters.html Here's a link to the only run of this game I've seen btw (PC version) it's a segmented run from 2006, but if you need an idea for a route to get started it's very handy. I don't know if the token and baby requirements are different between versions, I only know that some tokens are placed differently. To add to Doughy's point about the seemingly arbitrary leaderboards, the versions would have to be separated too.

England

I'm excited to see someone do a full proper run.
