I am planning on doing a SM3DW Any% Speedrun today or tomorrow. So I have a question about it. If I were to lose my cat suit and backup cat suit in a level, am I allowed to leave the game completely and come back to it? I will keep the timer going, and doing this will replenish my cat suit so I won't have to go get another one from another level, saving time. I usually do this when I am grinding ILs with items. So I was wondering if I could do this in the Any% category.
I agree with this as even I, a person that doesn't verify or moderate anything got 30 notifications about category ideas. You shouldn't be able to submit ideas on the thread. But I just have one small problem. What if you don't have Discord? I can't get Discord at all because I am not allowed to have it. So I request a different way to request category ideas, if possible. Since most people don't have Discord, maybe that's why people are suggesting it in the thread. So if you want to cut out the clutter in the thread, I would highly suggest a different way to suggest categories than the google form.
I kind of like the idea of ILs, maybe if you had to start without any abilities. The only problem is that not all the levels have an in-game timer; only the treasure road levels do. So maybe there could be ILs for the treasure road levels! In treasure road levels, you can't start with any ability you want, there are no waddle dees in these levels, and they have a built-in timer so everyone wouldn't have to use live split!
Hi, I'm new here! I joined about a month ago, but I've been doing speedruns for almost a year now. I speedrun a lot of Mario games. I'm not a professional, so I would accept any type of speedrunning tips and tricks or recommendations on what other speedruns I should do.
Here are my goals:
- Super Mario Odyssey Any% in under 1:10
- Super Mario 3D World Any% in under 2 hours
- 100 total speedruns by the end of the year
Thanks for reading!
You don't, but I would recommend it as it is fun to customize a live split timer. If you want to, you can look at SmallAnt's tutorial on how to set up your own!
