If you open the menu just before receiving a pickup while directly over it, you get the pickup and the spin animation does not play. You still have to advance the info screen, but it’s obviously quite a lot quicker.

Given that the animation takes roughly 4 seconds to play, and that in a normal Any% run there are 7 pickups (one health and six power-ups), this skip saves about 30 seconds in a normal run.

You can also "steal" the skin easter egg with this glitch, so it counts as collected item in 100% runs, meaning you must collect it.
