What are some easy games to start to speedrun/introducing speedrunning, i'm trying to get someone into speedrunning.
Well if its to just starting out, maybe look at what his favored games, any game can be speed ran, so might be best to look at what they are familiar with as it give him something they like and try to self improve on it from there.
otherwise look at if he wants to speed run whole game or try one of the games that offer runs by level as a starting point.
What genre are they into? How long of a game are you looking for? The more details you give, the more likely you are to get a good answer quickly. My blanket answer to this question is Kirby's Dream Land or Mega Man 2.

In addition to "every game can be speedrun" I'd go as far as "every speedrun can be as easy as hard as you make it." Sure, you'll never get WR unless you know every skip and glitch and optimization that the best runners do. But if you're just starting out, you shouldn't be doing all the craziest strats. One of my favourite runs is http://www.speedrun.com/infamous1 and it was a minor rite of passage when I first got to within 1 hour of WR :D But I've always had a lot of fun running that game, so even though I'm again ~30 minutes off WR, and the WR holder does some insane stuff I don't think I'll ever know how to do, it's still a great run for me. Do you get what I'm saying? Just do runs :)
