Hello, I've been thinking if I should make another effort at changing anything, but after analyzing some of the leaderboards I realised it's worth talking about. I do not write this in the series forums, since there's barely any activity there. I could do it in Discord but I am unable to join the server for whatever reason.
I've had quite a history speedrunning these games and had some quirks with them. Not the games themselves, but how it is decided what can be verified and what can't be. And when I've made some discovery on one of the runs it really got to me. Right now I am talking about Shooter25's run in the 100% category on this game. Something odd will stand out to you right away, that is how he didn't get most of the plushies after completing the Custom Night Challenges, with an excuse from the moderator being that Shooter was pressing F2 at the right times. It was a reason I thought was okay for several months, just for the fact how the run was much superior to anything else. But upon a closer examination, I realised they missed a whole different point in that video. And that is when my issue comes in with how everything is moderated. When he restarts the game on Night 5 at around 36 minutes into the video, Shooter pressed F2 while the screen was still fading to 6 AM. A month ago I was curious enough to look into the game's code, and, just like in most other Scott games, any star would only be rewarded at the first frame of fully visible 6 AM screen. Had Shooter started the run with a fully blank save file, the run would never make it any further than Night 5. That is how people press keys "at the right times", you get a moderator, still slip up and then get an unbeatable world record.
No, my run becoming the world record is not my motive here, I don't demand any rules getting changed (but still in the perfect case scenario get them a bit tweaked), I just want them to stay consistent. You have oversights like this one, but also some nonsense like the "mandatory purple guy" cutscene in FNAF 3 runs, which, for the context, is not required for progression, but will get your run rejected (that's the point of speedrunning, amirite?). The "New Game" skip has been a thing for so long but also couldn't prevent this "FNAF 2 wr". Again, that's just another absolutely useless thing to make a deal of because
1. The "Load Game" button is there from the start for a reason
2. Normal player would start from a fresh save file
3. The run starts from the same point at 12 AM screen
The best thing would be to just allow pressing Load Game at the start of the run and overall begin from an empty save entirely. 'cause, if we really take a look from an outsider's perspective, it is just delusional. But it's up to mods now to decide that. The required minimum for now is to reject the current 100% WR, then we'll see how everything else goes lol.

the mods for fnaf games are so consistently bad and inconsistent its literally a meme in the community lol, there was a rule in fnaf 1 that literally half the leaderboard broke but the mods just didnt enforce the rules. everybody knows the the mods suck ass but luckily 3 of the big ones left so they cant fuck it up more

Everyone knows Start of Frame lines of code happen before fade transitions. Watch literally any Any% speedrun before making such a stupid remark.

Every other point you've made is extremely pointless and doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things. The reason the plushies aren't given is because they aren't in the Start of Frame of course.

If this were FNaF 1, this would invalidate the run. However, due to FNaF 2's cutscenes between most nights, using an already finished save file is not against the rules.

(While the cutscenes can't even play when F2ing after 6AM (I believe so at least) this was not the case when the rules were already established.)

Yeah, turning out to be in the right all along is something difficult to digest I see. Well, even if I wanted to join back I'm unable to do so because of that ban, duh. It took some effort to come out as a winner in my situation.

So it just further proves how inconsistent everything is. Does the mod team understand how that ruins the leaderboard on a grand scheme of things. Is it something you see commonly done while speedrunning other games. Like if you didn't hit a checkpoint in Outlast and just reloaded to the save file you prepared (even the corresponding one), do you expect that run to be accepted? Speedrunning is not your normal playthrough, but the progression at least has to make sense. But sure, getting a moderator or two to watch your run and leave the leaderboard with an unbeatable run is just the right thing to do.

Oh, so that whole point was useless and the rules were never tweaked.

I think you misunderstand my point in the "rules were already established" part. If we redid the rules, every Any%/2-Star/3-Star/100% speedrun would become invalid.

Big changes happen sometimes. You could simply not reject the runs where it's not violated.

Use some commas between your "ands", I can't get the context; are you telling me the difference between being in the right AND simply trying to prove it and be disrespectful while doing it, or the difference between proving my points AND just acting mean?

Almost every run uses a non-fresh save file. Whether it's on Night 2 or it's 12-Star. That'd completely reset the boards. I've already discussed this through with Bruh, it's not happening.

Just adviced that as a possibility, don't think too much about it, but if that's okay, then simply pressing Load Game on a fresh savefile should not invalidate your run. And it doesn't cancel out the fact that runs like Shooter's can't be verified, 'cause the game literally wouldn't count your progress made at that moment.

He did beat all of the nights, just because they weren't saved doesn't deny his accomplishments. I will talk to Bruh about the Continue for Night 1.

The game didn't register him beating Night 5, same goes for all the challenges that weren't rewarded with a Plushie/star.

It's fair because we're not banning it? Your entire point is that it makes the category unfair, but yet anyone can do what he did? Calling it an "unbeatable world record" when literally anyone can just, do what you're saying shouldn't be allowed, because it is allowed. Nothing and no one is stopping anyone. Literally just get better. Shooter's WR is easily beatable. I could beat it first try if I learned the 10/20 strats.

I find it very hypocritical where you fight to have FNaF 2 follow other game's rules with progression, but then get mad when we follow the general speedrunning rule of "timing stops on the last input." Where do you draw the line of what you complain about?
