Flight Any% Guide

Introduction

Flight is an interesting game with it's strategies, either to have longer throws to get more money and possibly progress through the levels, or go very fast with shorter bursted flights to make smaller upgrades.

To put it simply, your strategy is to keep speed for the fastest result, this can be used via plane boost, crane boost (when upgraded) and windmills.

Strategies

Plane fuel is the strongest thing in the run. You can either use it to sustain your distance if needed in particular times, or boost for a short burst of distance, which in recent times, works for a solid Any% time. The uses for plane boost are:

  • Straightening your plane for maximum velocity.
  • To sustain altitude for the next windmill.
  • Going slightly up/down for lucky stars
  • Going slightly up/down for cranes
  • Boosting to get windmills

Upgrades

At this point in time, there are three essential upgrades to have a run actually work, and be consistent. These upgrades include:

  • Better Model
  • Rudder Control
  • Fire Engine

Better Model upgrades your plane model to give it more fuel, faster velocity and higher altitude.

Rudder Control allows you to control your plane with A and D , and is needed to actually control your plane to where you want to go, when you need it.

Fire Engine allows you to boost your plane and make it go faster under the control of spacebar.

Some upgrades in the upgrade menu post-throw are stronger than others. These consist of:

  • Lightweight
  • Aerodynamic
  • Throwing Power
  • Crane Booster
  • Green Fuel

Lightweight + Aerodynamic + Throwing Power are cheap essentials for basic improvements to your plane, which can save you a lot of time without realising.

Crane booster is an exceptional upgrade to your runs as cranes are common in the atmosphere. It is a win-win due to:

  • Medium price (Pays off)
  • Gives multiplier in money
  • Boosts
  • Straightens plane

Green Fuel is important to preserve as much fuel as you can with the current plane upgrade. It is cheap, and can be used for such an outstanding result.

Other upgrades that are optional but still have decent advantages consist of:

  • Lucky Star
  • Rainbow Stars

Lucky Star is a good touch to around Egypt-SWA due to the recognition of how many more lucky stars you come across. More lucky stars mean:

  • Incredible speed
  • Straightens plane

Rainbow Stars are an optional choice and sometimes a risky one, they're costly and should only be bought if having a hard run and need to end it off quickly. Honestly, you wont need this but if you somehow have the funds for it, it can give you an easy 600-800 metres at the beginning of your flight.

Conclusion

That practically concludes it. I will update this guide if new strategies come out for the game, whether that be an upgrade that is stronger than intended, an optimal upgrade path, or any bugs that get discovered. Other than that, I wish you good luck with your runs! Stay flyin' (:
