Hey what's up road rash buddies, for some reason I got into a road rash mood and started playing again. I tested almost all the tracks for speedier runs (as I'm sure many others have as well) I thought maybe we should have a new thread compiling all of them in order for anyone in the future willing to try to find new 'Skips' in the races to save everyone's time experimenting and thusly save time for everyone :)

So I made this little guide, I tried making it easy to understand. I made a legend to explain some of the expressions but hopefully it's easy to follow along, it details which turns to take and how to take them in order to 'skip' to 1st place and finish the race faster.

I'm posting this very late night and plan to edit it in the morning, I also hope to edit this later with all the info everyone else in the future would discover and experimentations and maybe this would be good enough to consider it a thorough guide. Cheers.

Legend: < means left , > means right , 'over the patch' means riding over a patch of land at a corner of an intersection to reset the position marker; and 'backwards' means to turn around and ride the wrong way.

The Courses:

                                     -- GRUNT RACES --

Soccer Mom: tested, none found yet Overlook: tested, none found yet High Noon: tested, none found yet Waterfront: tested, none found yet Tree Hugger: tested, none found yet Monu-Mental: tested, none found yet Rush Hour: tested, none found yet Medieval: tested, none found yet Border Run: tested, none found yet

Gauntlet: ?? no skips?

                                   -- Lieutenant RACES --

Urban Sprawl: > then < over the patch then drive back onto the race

Woodlands: backwards then > then <

Round Up: backwards then > over the patch

Wharf Rat: tested, none found yet

Descent: tested, none found yet

Flight School: < then > then > over the patch (right patch better than left patch?)

Escape: tested , none found yet (tried < > > & over the patch, didn't work)

Sightseeing: tested , none found yet

Lost Highway: backwards then < then < over the patch

Donut patrol: using boost earlier in the race will spawn cop earlier.

                            -- CAPTAIN RACES ---

Traffic School: haven't tested, none found yet

Mountaineer: < then > over the patch

Dry Heat: < then < over the patch

Weekender: tested , none found yet

Agro: tested , none found yet

In The Drink: backwards < then > then > over the patch

Long Haul: tested, none found yet (not many turns to attempt to skip, mostly straight course)

Road Trip: can skip small segments of race, < then < gets you to 1st place, then you do the rest of the race as normal otherwise none found yet

Run For The Hills: none found yet (not many turns to attempt to skip, mostly straight course)

Jailbreak: tested, none found yet ( seems like a straight forward race)

Hello Jailbreakers!

I've not tried to speedrun this game in a few years and I see we got some new records and fresh faces ,so......I come bearing gifts!

The 'Desert Corner Trick' in two stages!

'Round Up' and 'Lost Highway'

After chiteiro1 posted his original speedrun on the boards showcasing turning around in the "Woodlands" stage , I always wondered what other stages can you do this in ?

And I figured 'man...there HAS to be other stages where this works' so after much experimentation and research I found this trick corner in the desert of :

'Round Up' You turn around , drive backwards until you get to the intersection and you turn right...and!....it won't work. For some reason you have to ride over this very particular part of the desert in that corner -a bit at an angle- and then the position marker in the race marks you as first and you get to finish the race as normal!

'Lost Highway' Masterful Jailbreaker weirdo that I am, I also found this works on 'Lost Highway' , you make the second left , ride until you make another left , then you'll come across the Desert Corner but from THE OTHER SIDE, so this one is actually tricky, you can turn slight right (or even ride onto that road if needed ) then turn back and ride over the desert corner and Voila! same as before !

Now...I'm currently trying to mull my brain and rack my mind as to why the 'Woodlands' trick works and replicate it onto other races, as it requires no riding over corner tricks whatsoever.Whilst also trying to figure out what exactly makes the corner trick work (maybe that fence wasn't put out farther onto that corner? and the code's positional marker therefore resets? like you're out of bounds?).Finding out what makes those tricks work could help in other stages that are maybe like 'Woodlands' or 'Round Up' (Woods or Desert areas) ; but so far my experiments yielded no results in the subsequent races in that rank (Lieutenant) and it seems the Captain rank would be hard to find these exploits in , as they are just straight on long races on the straightest parts of the map. So I got more experimenting to do, hopefully we can find an urban area exploit.

so there you have it, also there might have been somewhere in all the old forums of the internet more of these tricks or even these ones and I may not have known so I may be the silly one but as far as I know....based on these speedruns....this is brand new. Obrigado!!

Is there anyway any of the mods can make another category table for individual races and best times for those? I myself have gotten better times than the any% single segment run in jailbreak mode but only in certain stages. Also is there a way that I can provide my screenshots of the end of the races with the IGT screen as proof like the Flappy Bird Leaderboards?
