Jokes aside, this one took a while to get. Thought I'd get 4:56 very soon after my low 4:57, but that just wasn't the case. Motivation to play Any% ran dry, and I began to spend my time doing other things. I don't know what brought me to start an attempt session today; maybe it was the frame 65 I got yesterday, maybe it was the fast-approaching deadline for FlibidyDibidy's visual leaderboard video, or maybe it was inspiration from Eddie's two low 4:55s. Either way, I sat down, put on some music and commited to an attempt session. Little did I know that I was in for the best attempt session (thus far) of my career.

Three runs to 8-4 on 4:56 pace that day, and so many runs to World 8 I couldn't keep track. The session felt insane, lots of progress being made, and my friends in the speedrunning server keeping me going. Right when I was growing exhausted, right before I was going to take a break to eat, I pulled this off. Fifth run to 8-4 on 4:56 pace ever, got turnaround walljump but made up for it with a clean turnaround room. Wish the 8-4 were better and I wish I didn't lose 2 frames on axe, but I can't be mad when I managed to pull this off after doing literally no runs in forever.

Never thought I'd get here. If you told me a year ago that I'd have a 4:56, I'd call you a blatant lair. But here we are. Very thankful for all the friends I've made along the way, you all are the reason I keep going. I do plan to go for mid 4:56 at some point, possibly soon, but I do have my eye on other categories at the moment.
