in skavenger’s tutorial he is using save states but doesn’t mention what he is using. I am guessing it is a “power pac” and a rom. Where would a new runner find such a rom? I am a new runner and just at finished my first run. I’d like to not die in the hell room 95%of the time so thanks in advance. ALso another discord link would be greatly appreciated we!

Im using the save state functionality built into the Everdrive N8. I dont own a PowerPak. I use my Everdrive for practice and casual play, and actual carts for run attempts. You can use any Blaster Master game rom, just gotta make sure to turn on Save States in the Everdrive menu. I would make sure to grab the JP version of the rom, its name is Chou-Wakusei Senki MetaFight, as well.

Thanks scavenger, looks like I will will picking up an everdrive. If i do start running the JP version and pick up a JP cart will I need to Pick up a famicon too or is there another way to play jp carts?

nah, you dont need a Famicom to play JP games, just gotta get a cart converter. They run about 20 bucks on ebay usually, or if youre lucky you can find one in an old NES cart. I got my converter in a Hogan's Alley cart.

The converter cart I got was about $12- $14. It's pretty cheap how I found it, luckily. Man! I haven't ran that game for a long time. I may have to get back on this, someday soon.
