I am really sorry to have to do this but I don't think I can verify the run. You have the timer covering almost the entire top part of the screen including the health bar. If there is a way you can redo the editing to make it smaller and even a bit transparent that would be acceptable. Also the timing is from the main menu mission accept as well. |

If possible also upload all you IL times you got recorded as well. Slowly we need to move all times with vids to youtube so they can be put on these leaderboards since Rare's leaderboards seem broken with no fix in sight. Also very big GG's for that insane time! Remember to upload to Xbox One since iirc that is the console you play on. |

Yeah the only difference between the consoles comes in the form of the controller and the loading speeds which only really matters in full game runs. If you are an IL grinder only then the console won't matter. The newer the console the faster the loads. so in order of slowest to fastest goes as follows. 360-One-S/X-Series S/X. |

From investigating and learning information over the years. Xbox 360 controllers are luck based on if they can accomplish full speed or not. I've owned and tested over 20 controllers and only 4 of them were speedrun worthy. From others testing the 3rd party wired afterglow seems to have the best odds but all I've ever tested is first party wireless so we know they have at least a 20% chance at being good. Xbox One controllers seem to get fast on incredibly worn and played controllers but not much more is known about that. Nothing tested too much on the Series controllers except they seem like they could just be the same as Xbox One. They might only work if incredibly played and worn. As for the main part of your question yeah the majority of runners use the default controls but you can test other styles to comply with how you want to play. I don't think there really is a fastest control style. How to get rid of years of muscle memory is to just force yourself to play the new control style and play nothing but the new control style from now on. Thats really the only way. |
Forum: Perfect Dark XBLA Thread: can we add 100% for specific levels and not for full game runs. Started by: dps555dps555 |
Not really because there is too many catagories, I mean there is but lol, Dusty hit the nail on the head. there is nothing that can be defined as 100% on stages in this game. Closest thing is unlocking the cheat I guess. But that just goes to a normal run leaderboards anyways. |

Forum: Perfect Dark XBLA Thread: i want a glitchless section Started by: MysteriousBrea4MysteriousBrea4 (edited: ) |
glitches banned are put in the glitchless full game category rules and each levels banned glitches are already put in each stages rules. The definition of glitchless in speedrunning is varied by community. It is not the same across all games. I.E look at Ocarina of Time glitchless vs other games. OoT has a glitchless category but it's infamous for having many sketchy glitchy looking techniques. |

They are separate consoles you can submit your runs as. No input things required but will add a nice touch of authenticity to your emulator runs. |

Forum: Perfect Dark XBLA Thread: I need help on the dataDyne Defection glitch Started by: [Deleted user] |
reread my text under the video. "This vid right here is a good beginners tutorial on how to do the glitch." It has already helped people to get good at the glitch from starting with the basics shown. So it's not a wasted vid at least. Feel free to make one for the advanced strats yourself as we do need more tutorials in PDX. |

Forum: Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth2: Sisters Generation Thread: All Trophies/Achievements? Started by: LichzimLichzim |
Reason for no Re;birth 2 all trophies/achievements runs yet is due mainly to 1 trophy. The Stella dungeon master iirc. That alone makes this run go into the possibly close to or way over a days worth of time even in speedrun form. |

Yeah it's just that no one has tried it. Any runs done on them will be accepted. Usually just the easiest difficulty of almost all games always gets the most attention. So feel free to to a run. |

Forum: Perfect Dark XBLA Challenges Thread: Important Question Started by: OGFantasyFlanOGFantasyFlan |
How I do it, if you have a decent laptop, download your videos open them in a player like VLC, have a timer setup to have global hotkeys, and have a streaming software like Xsplit. What you do is make a scene in Xsplit with the video window captured, and have the timer captured go to local record then play the video and start the timer at the correct timing and then of course end it at the correct timing, then end local record. I hope that helps you some. It's what I did to have an overlay and splits in my early days of speedrunning PS4 without a capture card. |

Did you see the mod edit from your challenge 1 submission after it got accepted? I made an exception to that IL as after I retimed it it was exactly 51 but it was hard to retime a run that starts the frame you hit play on the video. We added the new rule after it because we thought it was gonna be the thing everyone would do and didn't think we'd need it. Redo it with you accepting start challenge and us mods will retime it and post it as that time. This will be for all runs without an on screen timer. Or you can do it yourself, just redo the editing of all your runs but include an onscreen timer somewhere like you see on my runs. This will help deal with milliseconds. |

Another reason is just the fact a run doesn't exist. It will be added as soon as someone shows interest and decides to do it. So far the only person to do a 1-30 run was BigBossMan on the N64 version. It is a difficult task so it scares everyone away lol. Also nice to hear on your interst in running. We always welcome more runners of this game 😃 |

Forum: Perfect Dark Thread: Co-op Runs Started by: GoodleShoesGoodleShoes |
The N64 version of Perfect Dark leaderboards have mainly came from the elite.net with the difference of us adding in emulator categories. My general rule of thumb is once 2 runs are done of a category I will add it. As for why no one has done co-op runs that is a good question that I don't have an answer too lol. You and a friend can be the first if you want. Then join the Discord that is linked in this forum and maybe you can talk some one else into doing a run with a buddy of their own and once that happens I will add it. Though if it gets enough support and no one else can do the 2nd run I will probably just add it anyways because co-op runs sounds like it should be on the leaderboards. Sorry in advance for a long answer. |

Sure, I wouldn't mind making co-op categories. Only requirement will be to do a run first. Once you do that and have the video ready I will make it. |

No problem. If you'd like you can join the Perfect Dark Xbox Discord. It's basically the main discord for both versions of Perfect Dark for N64 and XBLA. That is usually where all the discussions on the games happen and even discussion on romhacks of GE and PD, and other Rare games. It's not very active but you can know at least when a change is being made. |
