Level Choice for Playstation / Emulator

Hi all, today I just spent a good 3-4 hours testing almost every mission this game has to find and make sure we know what missions to choose to get the fastest run. It is in my opinion that the following are the fastest and I will try and explain why for each one. Firstly, let me make note on what it means, before each mission name will be a direction, this is referring to what to choose on the voicemail (recorder) in your apartment.

(Left) means click the left arrow once and then press the thumb. (right) means click the right arrow once and then press the thumb. (none) means click the thumb (auto) means it will play the missions without going back to the apartment.

------------------------------------------------------------------- || MIAMI || -------------------------------------------------------- Auto | (Interview) Straight forward mission, we all know it.

None | (Bank Job) Again, another simple mission we should all know how to do it.

Right | (Tico's Ride) Tico's side plot consists of 3 missions, Tico's Ride, The Cleanup Pt.1 and The Cleanup Pt.2. I believe this to be the faster alternative to the other option given as the other option requires a 4 part mission to be conducted. For Tico's ride, it is a simple drive to Tico and drive him to his destination.

Auto | (The Cleanup) The Cleanup Pt.1 requires you driving to a house to pickup a white car, nice and easy The Cleanup Pt.2 needs you to drive that white car to a car-park just behind your apartment, again, nice an easy.

None | (Go meet Rufus) Good Ol' Rufus, time is short, so don't make mistakes.

Auto | (Bust out Jean Paul) (SMASH) Your first SMASH mission (I will refer to them as SMASH in capital letters) The cop car has an infinite / negative Density barrier, meaning, if you apply 100% force into it, it will apply twice as much back at you and send you flying in the direction you came from. Unfair I know. Do not ram him, instead, pull up in front of him or to the side and just grind his life away.

Right | (Superfly Drive) Ahhh, a classic be it that, this is your first hard mission, you must drive this Mustang back to its home, however, it can only take 1 good hit and you are goneskies. Avoid damaging it at all costs. In return, you get the fastest car in the game.

Left | (Take Out Di'Angio's Car) (SMASH) Just like Bust out Jean Paul, grind the side of the car and have good luck.

Auto | (The Informant) Just follow the tram along its rails until the end, make no mistake as the slightest crash can cause it to get away from you.

------------------------------------------------------- || SAN FRANCISCO || ----------------------------------------------- Auto | (The Casino Job) Just like the bank job, only in a new area.

Right | (Guns In The Trunk) Nice quick mission, tested and proven to be the fastest method. Just drive to a car parked in the street, pull a 180 before you finish part one and then you will begin immediately where you left off after the cutscene and must drive to the end goal.

None | (Taxi!) You have to freak this dude out, can be done in 10-20 seconds. To freak him out, you must do the following in any order. 2-3 360's 2-3 180 Handbrakes 2-3 Car smashing Speed Jump off of the hill Drive into cars

Auto | (Cosy To The Chopper) Simple mission, but can be tough if you aren't paying attention

Auto | (The Mercy Mission) Time is short and you have 3 phone booths to be at.

Auto | (The Setup) Starting is simple, you drive and enter a car park, cops now spawn everywhere and you are under attack, drive back to your apartment.

None | (Tanner and Slater) (SMASH) Just grind the guy, if he turns right and then left immediately, he will be slow and easy to kill if you are quick.

--------------------------------------------------------- || LOS ANGELES || ----------------------------------------------------- None | (Steal A Cop Car) Tested this also and is the fastest mission to complete out of the ones given. Just drive the car carefully straight home.

Auto | (The Chase) (SMASH) Grind this ute until he stops

Auto | (The Maddox Hit) This is a 3 part mission, you drive to a car-park to pick up the gunmen, you then drive to the place in which they shoot and then drive them to safety. Keep your health as low as possible as the final stretch can be difficult with no health.

Left | (The Test Run) Again, another set of missions tested and proven to be the fastest. You drive from one side to the other, no rush, no dramas, just get there.

--------------------------------------------------------------- || NEW YORK || ------------------------------------------------------------ NOW!!! New york as two plots, you either do the Grand Central Station Switch [OR] you do the Ali Situation Story, both today were timed by me and the Ali Situation was faster by 15 seconds, however this could be by coincidence that I didn't smash as many times when testing. I believe they are both as fast as each other and both can work as a final mission. Below I will state my times on all the missions within New York. If you want to do the Ali Situation, click Left on the VoiceMail machine and then continue onto a mission called "Luther's Heap of Junk"

None | (Grand Central Station Switch) (Click LEFT if you want to do Ali's Story) This is a semi tough 3 part mission, you drive to Federal Hall, then to Grand Central Station and then back to Federal Hall. On the way back to the hall, you will be pursued by the enemy instead of the cops, so watch out for black cars, not cops.

None | (The Accident) (SMASH) Use the cop car you stole before to cause an accident, just grind the dude until he submits

Left | (Trash Granger's Wheels) Nice and quick mission, drive to the park, smash this guys car up and then come back. FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, DO NOT CLICK THE THUMB AT THE RECORDER BEFORE PRESSING LEFT, OR ELSE YOU WILL BE STUCK ON THE NIGHTMARE MISSION (TAXI CAB) where you drive a taxi with 0 life from one side to the other in bullcrap conditions.

Auto | (The Negatives) (SMASH) Last Smash mission, this is the toughest, good luck.

Auto | (Rite of Passage) They want to make sure you are ready for the final mission, drive from one side of New York to the other in 4 minutes or less. Very tough time frame and you only just make it with seconds to spare.

Auto | (President's Run) The one, the only, the best mission ever. Play it normally if you will, I enjoy it, a very fun challenge indeed, especially on HARD mode. However, if you watch my run, you can see an out of bounds (OOB) glitch where you can finish it in 30 seconds with no dramas. ---------------------------------------------------------------GAME FINISHED!!! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------

OKAY onto the New York Timing. In conclusion mate, I just tested a whole bunch of missions on Driver and the results are in Miami - San Fran - Los Angeles are the same as my WR run However in New York, testing both the "Ali Situation" vs "Grand Central and Rite of Passage" the times came in as this

-- Luthers Heap Of Junk: 2 minutes 30 seconds -- The Rescue: 5 minutes 39 seconds (8:09 total) (Assuming you take the bridge) -- Trash Grangers wheels: 2 minutes 51 seconds (11:00 total) -- The Negatives: 1 minute and 9 seconds (12:09 total) -- The Ali Situation: 3 minutes and 59 seconds (16:10 total) -- Presidents Run Total time being 16 minutes and 10 seconds GIVE OR TAKE maybe 20-30 seconds due to crashes and poor cornering. That time includes all loading screens and cutscenes needing to be skipped

Now onto WR path -- Grand Central Station Switch: 5 minutes 40 seconds -- The Accident: 1 minute (6:40 total) -- Trash Grangers Wheels: 2 minutes 51 seconds (9:31 total) -- The Negatives: 1 minute 9 seconds (10:40 total) -- Rite of Passage: 5 minutes 45 seconds (16:25 total) Total time being 16 minutes and 25 seconds again GIVE OR TAKE 20-30 seconds due to accidents and small mistakes.

So in conclusion, I believe that either path is a viable option in beating the game quick. The Ali situation is slightly more difficult and based on luck due to having no cops when you beat each level, where as Grand Central only requires speed and traffic management.

My opinion, if you want a safe run, go Grand Central playthrough, if you think you have good RNG and good Luck with cops respawning, try the Ali Missions.

HAPPY PLAYING
