Thanks Jason. I have added you as a mod. I am on almost daily, but I think it is good to have you on board especially if you will be running the game actively.


I have just checked and no skip function on the Android version that I can see - last time it was updated on Google Play was in 2015. Hopefully Android will get the update at some point. Until then, I guess either add cinematic time to iOS runs (if skipped) or deduct the time from Android runs. I prefer the former as all existing run times are with the cinematic and easier not to change them, but I'm easy either way.


Sorry, last point. I have speed-watched Zach's 100% run and checked that he seems to get all treasures, bosses etc. However, the list of achievements is a long one and I wouldn't like to say for an absolute certainty that he ticked every one. On the basis that you are thinking of running that category JasonAce, if you happen to spot anything missing from his run please let me know. Cheers.


As an aside, this game is my favourite of all time to speedrun but I really struggle now to be able to do any runs over 60 mins as I am limited mostly to lunchtimes at work and the odd free hour here or there. If a new skip or exploit brings WR down below 60 mins I will get back in the mix but otherwise I doubt I will submit anytime soon.

On the basis that at least one of the mods should be actively running the game, either of you want to be an additional mod? MarcoDTL is not active.


Good spot JasonAce, they are relatively new uploads and I hadn't seen them before. I would message Zach Miller to see if he wants to join but comments are disabled on all his videos. I will add them to the leaderboard as I can't think he would have any objections.


Indeed, given your math I wonder whether it is even worth leaving in 100% no CD? No point in having an empty category. xEarthx, if you still want to run 100% no CD please let me know in the next couple of weeks.

I have submitted world runs which include small jump starts, so they are not glitchless.

However, I think it might be worth having a glitchless category for world runs too as we will have the same lag issues with world runs if a lot of people start running them.

I am happy to leave it to Gangscred and MrVirus - if they think world runs should be glitchless only, then I do not mind if they reject the runs I have submitted and I will do new ones.

The only problem with full / world runs being glitchless is that (a) it will be difficult to police and the mods can't be expected to closely inspect every level and (b) it is easy to accidentally jump start a level, which would ruin a run if glitchless was a rule. My preference would be for full / world runs to both have a glitchless and any% category as with the ILs.

Hi Choc, by all means beat my times - you have already made a good start I see! I just wanted to populate the glitchless leaderboard initially so many of the times are far from optimal. I hope to improve my full game and world runs steadily as I think they involve some interesting strategic issues re settings.

Great, thanks MrVirus. I will submit times for all worlds now but these are just to kick the categories off - most of the levels are a good 10%+ over decent times and I am sure someone else can beat them easily.

It takes me about 8 secs in total to change settings and change them back on the next level, but I think it is worth changing them occasionally for the big skips.

Regarding the rule for leaving the real time column blank, I think it is preferable (although not essential) that it is left blank as the leaderboard looks a bit messy otherwise, with some times showing in that column and some not. I think the current rule, which just asks runners to avoid inputting a real time if possible, is about right.

I have been trying a single-segment World 1 as below (2:11 is my best time so far, kept settings at 10-10-10 throughout). I think sub-2 is possible. If categories for World 1, World 2 etc could be added, that would be great cheers.

I agree Viktoracri that an on screen FPS counter would solve the problem. I did find a Samsung app that let me display FPS in top corner (I am always on 60 FPS except on the very rare occasion it drops to 58-59). However, the screen recorder doesn't pick up the FPS counter so it won't show on the videos. I have looked on Google Play for some third party apps for FPS display but can't find any good one, and I imagine those would not show on the video either.

I think for the moment the only option is to leave it to the runners in glitchless to flag up any suspected lag and to explain their reasons to the mods if an individual run is queried. Runners should also not take offence if one of their runs is queried, as lag can happen without the runner's knowledge, and querying a run does not amount to an accusation of cheating.


Thanks Viktoracri. For the avoidance of doubt, I certainly don't accuse Masterlol of deliberately lag-glitching and it is easy to get lag inadvertently.

I also agree that the lag is often not obvious on a watch-through so the mods can't be expected to pick it up at the verification stage.

I just thought I would mention that some runs are it seems influenced by lag.

I noticed that in Masterlol's glitchless level 4, he shoots off the start and is at the first boost about 0.8s ahead of the other runs. He then maxes at 32 whereas the other runs max at about double that. Despite that, his time is almost 1s up. His ghost also beats him but his time shows as an improvement.

I am not for a second suggesting the run is cheated as it is clear from the video that it isn't, and it's great to see you join in Masterlol. I just think that there was a bit of a glitch it seems probably resulting from lag, which we know affects the times, and thought I would flag it up and see whether people think laggy runs might be better in any%?

Incidentally, I am bottom in that IL, so this isn't me trying to win by default.

Would it be possible to add categories for completing World 1, World 2 etc (ranked in real time)? Reason is that single segment multi-level runs would add an element of strategy, in balancing between optimal settings but avoiding time cost in changing the settings.

The full game run is 20-30 mins which might be a little too long for some people to want to try it, but World 1 for instance is about 2 mins.

I certainly think a glitchless full game category might become worthwhile if more people start running full game, but it is just me and gangscred at the moment and gangscred's run does not contain any huge glitches so it is not a problem. Also, moderating a full game run for glitchless would be a pain for MrVirus and gangscred. If someone does a full game run and gets a few really big lags then a glitchless full game category might be worth it but not for now.

As for IL, I think a glitchless category is now essential because I can see any% becoming an exercise in FPS manipulation. Incidentally, (in case I am accused of sour grapes) I still think Cant Connect and GDAnnnoid would be top in glitchless as I have watched their runs and they are super fast even without the glitches.

Great full game run gangscred! I have struggled to get the time to sit down and try and improve my full game time but will definitely be doing so soon.

Good call MrVirus, the glitches are very hardware sensitive so a glitchless category is a nice leveller (although any% is still very fun to watch and very competitive).

I can foresee some difficulty to moderate - it would help if people could wait a moment or two (literally just a half-second or more) at the start of the run before moving, so that is is crystal clear that there is no jump start. Timer doesn't start until first move, so no disadvantage in a short wait.

I think I'll mainly run glitchless as I can't seem to get the huge jump starts on my phone.
