(!)

  • Mysterious G-Turn:

PC...Y DC...Y PS...Y MR...Y

Jump, 180 and land in "Manual", the bike will switch around without control.

Can also be done if you Jump and land in "Nose Manual" without the 180.

This is the "G-Turn" that the game hints at when you beat it, sometimes.

(!)

  • Donuts:

PC...Y DC...Y PS...Y MR...Y

You like Donuts? Good, here's how to do it.

Simply turn the direction you want to go, keep holding it then move your thumb downwards to start the "Skid", your thumb should now be on the diagonal down of the direction you chose, and your rider should now be doing an infinite "Skid".

You can be stylish and chain it with another "Donut" in the opposite direction by doing the same, just the other way.

Only real purpose for this is to get unimaginable "Skid" records for comp levels.

(I use the D-Pad for this, so if you have issues, try using that for your movement)

(!)

  • Fakie-nado:

PC...Y DC...Y PS...Y MR...Y

This works kind of like "Donuts", so get a feel for that first.

While in fakie, if you hold your "Jump" and start holding a direction and do the same movement for "Donuts", you'll find that you go into a tighter circle than you would normally turn in fakie, along with your rider starting to vibrate. You may also notice that your speed isn't dropping like it normally would either, in-fact it seems to be slowly increasing.

It's not a great boost to your speed or height but it is worth a mention if you need to use it to clear a gap but don't have the speed at current position.

(!)

  • Quicker Spins:

PC...Y DC...Y PS...Y MR...Y

Fairly simple one but not many know about it.

Before you jump on your ramp of choice, hold one of the shoulder "Spin" buttons (L1, L2, R1 or R2 for PS) and hold the "Jump" button at the same time, then when ready, release the "Jump" but hold that spin.

You'll notice that you spin a bit more than you would without doing this.

(!)

  • Quicker Flips:

PC...Y DC...Y PS...Y MR...Y

Real basic but many may not know about it, when doing your flip of choice (Front, Back, Double, Triple) just double-tap in the direction that you did the flip with while in the air.

If you "Backflip" (Down+Trick), then double-tap "Down". If you "Frontflip" (Up+Up+Trick), then double-tap "Up".

(!)

  • Hold Gains:

PC...Y DC...Y PS...Y MR...Y

Holding down your Jump button going down long hills will gain speed, the longer the hill the more speed you'll get.

Along with that, the longer the Jump is held, the higher your Jump will be.

It also holds your speed, though you will gradually slow down, more so when going up hill.

(!!)

  • Edging:

PC...Y DC...Y PS...Y MR...Y

When Jumping at the very edge of a flat part before a slope or any kind of ramp with a sudden descent, the game seems to give you a distance boost.

Can be useful for gaining distance where otherwise not possible.

(!!)

  • Edge Gains:

PC...Y DC...Y PS...Y MR...Y

Like "Hold Gains", if you hold your Jump button just as you get to the edge of a ramp or terrain, you will roll down the slope with a small speed boost.

That along with the effect of "Hold Gains" can be an easy way to get some serious speed, though you wont find many places to use it.

          - Speed -
     ------------------------------------

(!)

  • DD / UU:

PC...Y DC...Y PS...Y MR...Y

Jump and double tap "Down" (Don't hold on second tap), your bike will now be at angle.

When you land like this, it gives a small speed boost.

Doing it again as soon as you land gives you more of a boost, seems to be continuous but there are not many places to use it continuously.

When riding fakie, you can do the same as above, just double tap "Up" instead. This will also give you a little more of a boost than normal due to some weird properties with boosts in fakie, however, can prove to be more difficult.

Also, when using this on a sloped surface, you will gain an even bigger boost than the fakie method above. Just be cautious as some slopes may just eat your tire and cause you to bail, shallow slopes seem to be fine no matter what.

(!)

  • Town Boost:

PC...Y DC...Y PS...Y MR...?

With this one, go up the QP at a diagonal angle, then you'll need to do a "Turndown" (Left+Trick) or "Un-Turndown" (Left+Left+Trick) and hold that until the last second, make sure to land slightly crooked, then quickly hold the jump button and straighten out your bike as you ride away.

You can also do this off the ground or on a normal ramp, just follow the same directions above.

You should notice a decent boost from this one if done correctly and you can get more of a boost using the "DD / UU" method in combination with this.

(!!)

  • Man Boost:

PC...Y DC...Y PS...Y MR...Y

My fave and first found tech.

Jump and land in a "Manual", now here's the tricky part; balance your Manual forward though not so forward that your wheel touches but the further forward the balance the more you'll get out of this.

Once it feels right, Jump and land in a "Manual" again, you may notice a bit of speed when you land, keep doing this and you'll keep gaining speed.

Best used when there aren't any edges to gain off of. Most effective after "Edging" or an "Edge Gain".

(!!)

  • NoMan Boost:

PC...Y DC...Y PS...Y MR...Y

Just like the "ManBoost", doing this on the Nose seems to give you more speed than the previous, just a little harder to pull off.

Jump and 180, as you do that double tap "Up" and hold on the second tap to land in a "Nose Wheelie", balance it downwards and jump when you feel it's right, land in a "Nose Wheelie" again and you'll notice a speed boost.

Like the previous, the more downwards the balance, the better the results.

(!!)

  • SupMan Boost:

PC...Y DC...Y PS...Y MR...Y

Practice your "Superman" timing on the ground first, you'll need it.

Once ready to get a boost out of it, all you need to do is tap out a "Superman" and very quickly double-tap "Down", holding on the second tap to land in "Manual". Now, same as previous "Manual" Boosts, try to angle it as forward as you can, then "Jump" and repeat.

If you don't land in "Manual", it's not a big deal, the "Superman" trick naturaly makes you land a few frames further than any other trick. It's this property of the trick coupled with the "Man Boost" that gives you a speed boost with distance bonus.

Note: While great for forward boosting, it will slow you down in fakie boosting.

(!)

  • Table Lifts:

PC...Y DC...Y PS...Y MR.../

No, you're not lifting tables in a BMX Game.

Doing a "Tabletop" in the air (Up+Trick) can get you a little higher in the air, along with that, you can hold it for longer than any other trick.

You could be inches from the ground but as long as you release the hold before you smack into the ground, you'll land it every time.

(!)

  • T-Bogg Lifts:

PC...Y DC...Y PS...Y MR.../

You'd have seen this in my speedruns used in combo with "ManBoosts".

"Tobaggan" (UpLeft+Trick), just like "Table Lifts", this trick brings your bike up a bit higher giving you a little more space before hitting the ground, but not as long as a 'Table Lift'.

The bonus to this one, is that it also pushes the bikes hit-box forward.

You can use it to; jump small fences/rails you wouldn't otherwise be able to jump over, bring the bike up to reach a higher grind, gain a little more speed and distance out of your "Speed Boosts"/"Man Boosts"/"NoMan Boosts".

(!!)

  • Bigger Launch:

PC...Y DC...Y PS...Y MR...Y

This is a little hard to pull off, but with enough practice you'll get it most of the time.

Find your Quarter-pipe of choice, get some speed and time your "Jump" to as soon as your bikes back tire hits the very edge of the ramp.

It doesn't just give you more height due to the point your jumping at, but because of the "Edging" technique on top.

    ------------------------------------

(!)

  • LipBal:

PC...Y DC...Y PS...Y MR...Y

"Lip Slide"s (UpLeft+Grind) seems to be the easiest grind to balance over all others, it maintains it's grind speed longer than others too, though not the fastest.

(!)

  • CrookedSpeedBal:

PC...Y DC...Y PS...Y MR...Y

"Crooked Grind"s (DownLeft+Grind) seem to be the fastest grind and deffinitly equal on balance with "Lip Slides", however, the longer its held, the quicker it slows down and the balance also seems to degrade over time unlike the lipslide.

Best used as a quick grind.

(!)

  • Slick Luc-E:

PC...Y DC...Y PS...Y MR...Y

"Luc-E Grind"s (UpRight+Grind) seems to be the best grind to use for any situation.

It has the speed of the "Crooked Grind", the ease of balance of the "Lip Slide" and the degrade rate is possibly the best of all grinds/slides (so far).

(!!)

  • Grind Targeting:

PC...Y DC...Y PS...Y MR...Y

Yes, you can Target your Grinds, sort of.. How I think this works is that your grinds will always hit the next grindable point in front of your bike.

Examples; If there are two ledges and you want the bottom most one, you will need to have your bike over the grind point you want and lower than the one you don't want.

If you want the higher one, get your bike just over its grind point and have the bottom one lower than that point.

If the grind is too high and you can't reach over its point, use a "Table Lift", "T-Bogg Lift" or "Superman" to get the hit-box a little higher and mash that Grind button, if you're lucky, you should be able to grind that ledge otherwise unreachable.

  ------------------------------------
        - Walls -
  ------------------------------------

(!)

  • Illusionary Walls:

PC...Y DC...N PS...N MR...N

I only know of one and it's on the first comp level; "Pro Tour - Sleepy's Ditch".

If you ride down the right hand trail at the very start, over the 3 wooden spines, follow it to the first gap but jump just short of that getting over the ramp for the start of the gap, but slam into what seems to be a wall until you go straight through it and into the Green Void.

You can also ride into it from the bottom of that gap, doesen't even exist.

That's some Matrix shiz right there.

(!!)

  • Wall Phasing:

PC...Y DC...Y PS...Y MR...?

This can be done anywhere that has a rail, QP with short deck or any stall-able ledge with a wall behind it.

When you find your spot, ride up to it head-on and do either a "Tail Tap" (DownLeft+Grind) or "Nose Pick" (UpLeft+Grind) then balance yourself into the wall, don't jump just keep balancing it until the rider jumps off themselves and you land in the void behind for some easy points.

Sometimes this may not work and the wall will bounce you off, but chances are you may just need to use the other trick or the wall just isn't phase-able.

(!!!)

  • Boundary Hopping:

PC...Y DC...N PS...N MR...N

The walls are not endless!

This is as easy as using Speed Boosts to gain speed and/or use Hold Gains on a decent slope to get that little bit extra (so.. not that easy), remember that the longer you hold the jump down the more height you get and with the extra speed you should have no problem getting over any wall and into the void or you might even land on top of the boundary.

May not work for PS/DC, seems there is a higher gravity system in place than on PC.

(!!!)

  • Teleports:

PC...Y DC.../ PS.../ MR...?

-- 'Pro Tour: Sleepy's Ditch' (First Comp.) (Does not work on console versions)

Ride down the starting hill for the first 2 terrain bumps and then jump and bail off the bike towards the right hand wall, getting your rider up against it as much as possible.

If in the right spot you should end up teleporting to underneath the first "Maxxis" Tyre at the top of the hill into the ending area of that level.

Great to get those points real quick.

-- 'Pro Tour: Eastwood' (Second Comp.) (Works on DC/PS, but goes into a void loop instead. Easy Points!)

This is the hardest "Teleport" I've come across yet.

Keep riding the way you're facing when you start. In the outside area there should be a quaterpipe on your left, ride the middle of the qp and and bail into the brick wall to the side of it.

Make sure to land your rider right up against it and ride at it as fast as you can manage, also helps if you bail into it in fakie.

If you're lucky, you should find yourself on top of that brick wall, if you keep riding along it you will find that it's solid up until a point towards the half pipe area where you'll fall right through the ground into the void.

  • Reduce Lag/FPS Drops:

PC...Not Needed DC...Y PS...Y MR...Y

Sick of the fps drops? Good, so am I.

Once in-game, press "Start" or "Pause", go to the "Options" and change your camera to "Above".

You should now get half the drops you had before.

All you gotta do now is learn to play the game from this perspective.... have fun~!

(!)

  • Get your score quicker:

PC...Y DC...Y PS...Y MR...Y

If you've played for long enough you may have noticed that it takes a while for your score to actually tick over after a trick, this is bad for speedrunning, luckily the solution is super easy.

All you need to do after the trick set, is to do one trick and the quickest would be a simple "Barspin" (Down+Modifier).

Not just a Jump, it wont work like that, you need a trick name to appear on your screen and as soon as it does it will instantly give you the score before that trick, though visually it may have to catch up.

(!!)

  • Competitions2EZ:

PC...Y DC...Y PS...Y MR...Y

This took so long to figure out with the games BS RNG.. 8/10 runs this should work.

** (PC) On the first comp level, you need to quickly end both your first and next run, for some reason this seems to allign the RNG in your favor for the rest of the comp levels.

** (DC/PS) On each competition level before you start, quickly end both your first runs. What seems to happen is when the game scans that you've done so poorly on your previous set, it gives you better odds of winning the next set. Could be superstition but this seems to work for me, so...

Once done with that you can begin your domination by following this small guide;

What you need to do is keep improving your "records" ("Longest Manual", "Big Air", "Best Single Trick", ect., ect.) and make sure you get your score into the 60,000 - 110,000 range before starting the next run. Keep doing this until the last level, it seems to want you to be in the 100,000 - 120,000 range.

Things that seem to fix the odds in your favour: -Crashing / bailing and ending your run after first bounce -Ending your run during your score ticking over -Break records, as many as you can in a set. -Try to keep score between 60,000 - 90,000 (except last comp) -Pray to Lady Luck and hope for the best!

(!!!)

  • Fakie Vortex:

PC...Y DC...Y PS...Y MR...Y

The "Fakie Vortex" is more of a Collision bug than a trick but can be used to your advantage if you find yourself in this rare situation.

This situation happens when your character is stuck on a point you've landed on; looking closely you will see you are in the fakie animation going in a fast rotation, stuck in place.

Don't freak out, just hold your "Jump" and prepare to 180 when you release it. To aim your jump, focus on the direction you want to go and look for when your back tire points in that direction, then just let go of the "Jump".

It's not easy due to the speed you're rotating but you should get close to the direction with this small guide.

It is possible to get a distance boost out of this, depending on how long you hold the "Jump" and the area you're stuck on, but it happens so rarely it's not worth worrying about until found in it.

     ------------------------------------
          - Bonus -

*Note: Most of these will need tools to test. Tools that I'm not sure exist yet, if someone finds/makes them, let me know.

(! - !!!)

  • Whipping (Snaking?)

I can't be certain about this one until I can get some sort of speedometer for the game.

It seems as though, while holding up and turning, the character gains a slight speed boost, it also seems able to be combo'd like the B-Hop tech from Source games, just without jumping.

Just from observation, it looks like the best way to use this is to do a 'Whipping' technique.

To explain in movement: you hold "Up" and turn "Left", then as the camera starts to pan with you, turn the other way, still holding "Up" and hold your Jump, then as you finish your small half-circle turn (or 'Whip'), you can either jump and use any of the "Boost" or "DD / UU" tech, or, if going downhill, continue the 'Whip' motion and then use the previous.

(!!!!)

  • Late Flip Boost

PC...Y PS...? DC...? MR...?

T.A.S.ers, this one's for you to try out.

At some point in the air, before landing, you need to "Backflip" (Down+Trick) and as you land, the "Backflip" frames need to still be active while also using the "Quicker Flips" method.

As you land, it should spit you out about as quick as the last method in the "DD / UU" section, if not faster, no matter what speed you were going when you entered your aired state.

To Add/Test:

  • More Teleports (?) (Misc.)
