I think that's a good idea, but I think there needs to be more to it than just the subclass. Maybe only get a specific amount of weapons or another restriction like that.
The thing with weapons is you get them randomly and you cannot proceed through the game at a good pace without decent weapons but i might agree with a different restriction

That wouldnt make much sense in a low% run... I was looking at New Super Mario Bros 2 Low% Rules and it has a rule where you cant buy anything, so maybe in this run you can only use Quest Items and RNG Dropped items?
I mean that sounds fine too. In a regular New Game any% do they buy anything in the first place?

It is a meme category because it is just so that you can get a record, if you want a record just go do no sparrow, that's a meme category, all story ultras is a meme category. Also your idea is vague and it is purposely making the game slower, no one will seriously run it, which is another reason why it is a meme category. And it is from you which means it's probably a meme category.
While it is making the game slower is restricting you as a challenge. No Sparrow Restricts you from your sparrow making it more challenging. Is most cases low% is made to restrict you from power ups and upgrades. For an example in Hyper Light Drifter Low% you may not purchase any upgrades and pick up other weapons which Restricts you to Basic Moment and attacks. For Destiny Low% my idea would be: No Subclass upgrades and no buying Weapons, gear .ect from the tower. Would all other. And also it wouldnt be just so "I could get a record" this game has over 400 different runners that could try for the record.
