Viable Composition Guide for Necro%

I think if we're going to add upon the Guides in Darkest Dungeon, team Composition is something that everyone should take into consideration.

There's a bunch of different team comps that can work, but certain heroes that should be aimed for when doing a run. Perhaps even make a tier list on what heroes you want for the endgame.

High Damage Dealers for the Front 2 rows to get rid of Necromancer skeletons.

  1. Crusader -- gets extra damage on Undead
  2. Hellions -- Has a DOT of her own that she can place if skeles aren't on the field
  3. Lepers -- High damage, prone to missing
  4. BH -- Maybe in conjunction with someone to place a Target?? Could be worth looking into. May be slower, but it's something to possibly consider if the entire group is a MARK team
  5. MAA -- Can hit 3rd position if Necro summons too many Skele
  6. Battle Ves -- Battle Vestal can be something to take into consideration if you get super unlucky with your pulls from the Stage Coach

Backrow for DOTs/Damage

  1. HWM -- Can shoot and Place Bleed DOT
  2. PD -- Blights for any row
  3. HM -- Can attack any position and apply Bleed / Don't forget DOG TREATS
  4. Arb -- Straight up Damage from the Back Row
  5. Ves -- Can attack from afar
  6. Jester -- Finale nuke?? Lots of ways to Bleed
  7. GR -- Can blight and attack from afar
  8. Occ -- Can place MARKs, Debuffs, and clutch heals

There's a bunch of comps to take into consideration, I don't think the Abomination or Antiquarian are viable, due to Abom giving you unwanted Stress if you ever get into their Beast form, and Antiquarian just not being a source of damage at any point in time and just moneys.

Then again, I could be wrong and maybe Abom could be one of those CLUTCH RISKS that you're willing to take right at the end where after not turning into your best form, you finally go into Beast Form and deal as much damage to the Necro as fast as you can.

Just more things to think about and maybe even experiment with.

This is all great stuff! Love it! We're doing a lot of discussing about this very type of thing right now in a Darkest Dungeon discord in a speedrunning channel. Come check it out. AncientRelyk is going to be recording a party building walkthrough/tutorial soon, so this is perfectly timed.

Here is the discord. Once in, look for the dd_speedrunning channel. https://discord.gg/pitchblackdungeon

Another thing to mention is the Highwayman could actually be a frontliner if you dont have to many options. Giving them point blank shot with a lunge can work well. Then again against necro who will always be in at least the second slot unless you're lucky maybe isn't the best option.
