Just compiling my idle animation stuff here, maybe I'll make a compilation video of all the characters eventually, but so far these are what are working for me
An oscillation being a cycle of the idle animation repeating. Pick something on the character to look at and count every time it comes back to where it started (hair, arms, anything on the sprite, really):

Sorc: 9 and 5
Barb: 7 and 4
Zon: 9 and 5, same as sorc
paladin: 8 and 5 (start walking about 4.5)
druid: 10 and 6 (edited from 9 and 6, 10 seems to be more consistent)
sin: 9 and 5
I cant seem to figure out necro and he's frustrating me (will edit post later if I figure it out tho. It's gotta be like 8.5 / 4.5 or something)

It works like a charm for me as long as I wait 2 ticks outside the line right after touching it before going back in. Just had my 5/5 on sorc. Now testing the other ticks suggested by blazer for the other classes.

yeah you definitely need to wait a second or so before moving back in, but I never really relied on counting for it, as you can wait as long as you want before moving back in I think

We had some success with weapon swapping to time out the same intervals as the Sorceress timing. Swapping as fast as possible (so that the swap actually can't keep up with your key inputs) seems to equal 2 swaps = 1 sorc animation. So 18 swaps before you leave the room, and 10 swaps before you cross the line and back out.

Weapons swapping seems to be consistent across characters regardless of gear (tried 1 hander with shield, and 2x 1 handers). This is of course building off of Blazes timing method, and trying to find a universal, countable, action.

I've just found the solution which consistently made me do 3/5, 4/5 and 5/5 on every single class.
Instead of counting to 9 for sorc in particular, I just wait close to the inner line(which is closest to baal) till baal almost finishes his laugh by like half a second. Then I head outside the outer line(which is furthest from baal) and count to 5(I used the 101, 102, 103, 104, 105 counting method just to give you an idea of how fast I've been counting). Right after counting to 5 I barely touch the outer line and turn back immediately. Finally, I count to 2(once again using the same method) and go back inside passing the outer line. Baal should now be laughing and you can repeat this procedure all over again up to 5 times. Sofar, It has worked out for all classes. So it's wrong that different classes have different approaches.

Worth mentioning that FRW will probably impact when you should be reentering on your 5th second count. So I would highly suggest practicing with different common FRW values too. Anything from 0% to 65%. More would probably be for very special cases.

Also if anyone wants a nice map with a short Worldstone, the seed is here: 1207532579

I wanted to see if there was a correlation between the baal wave spawn animation and the timing of re-entering the throne room, so I put these two clips side by side. I also think it might be useful to note more precise timings for things so I added a timer.

Maybe some science can be done using this information. Sorry for the scuffed start of the skip clip, you can still hear they are within a frame of being in sync by the two ice blasts that kill the final mob.

Edit: I've only included one in the video, but I tested three different successful skips and the timings of re-entering throne and the start of the wave spawn animation were virtually identical. 3 is not a large sample size but y'know.

So me and sanzeau have discovered a consistent method to know which waves have been skipped so far. It is independent of difficulty, seed and pc.

Basically the waves 1+3+4 always cause a lag while the others won't. So if you wanna find out whether you've skipped the first wave, you need to experience a lag. Similar to wave 3, you have to experience a 2nd lag after the first lag to know that you are at the third wave. Getting 3 lags in total means you are at the 5th wave.
