I agree. With as cool as this game looks its a shame that in the glitched runs we see so little. Any% Glitchless should be a thing for ALL games...
I talked today in Discord channel and the answer was no ... I quote 'no one is running it'. Seems we are all no one here. :)
Sounds like we all need to flood the Discord and show them that there ARE people that want to run glitchless (both NG+ and Any%).
Another thing to note is there is nothing that says you must use glitches. Any% means Any%. Beat the game as fast as you can. Whatever way you want to beat it you can.
A glitchless speedrun would be cool. at least in my opinion , I am not gonna bash people with a different opinion since I plan to run both and the glitches can be really cool to see/do.
I don't see a reason why we shouldn't make a glitchless category, even if only a few people run it.
My question is why can't it be ran in normal any%? I don't do the foundry cutscene skip but I don't believe that there is a reason to have Any% No Foundry Cutscene Skip. Not trying to just shoot down your idea just trying to get a good explanation on why. (I also of course don't have any authority on this)
Why would anyone run a glitchless in a any% category? You will never compete with any other times, and would have to list the speedrun as "glitchless" in the any% category. If that happens why not just make another category for glitchless. The "no one is running it: argument does not make sense since there is a "any% ultra nightmare" category with only 2 times in it over the past 6 months. You are telling people to make their own category within another category. Which would not work out.
Quick question. I undertand all the banned stuff except animation cancel. I haven't done the any% but was thinking about giving glitchless a try. What does is an animation cancel exactly?
What you mean exactly? Animation canceling is a technique where you cancel a specific animation, for example in VEGA where you got the tethering animation that plays for like 5-6s that you can skip.
Good example of Animation Cancel is when you first gain control of DoomGuy - in Any% runners fire the pistol to stop a slow animation from triggering whilst activating a panel by the door; in Glitchless, you would not be allowed to stop that animation.
Would using the invincible power up to jump down into the beam on argent energy tower and grab the gauss cannon be considered out of bounds? I don't think it violates the other rules, but wasn't sure about that one.
