hey guys i am thinking of speedrunning this game once i complete it for the first time, first of all, i would like to thank uhTrance and Carcinogen's youtube channels becuase carcinogen recently released a speedrun with commentry which i love so much. on the other hand, uhTrane produced very interested live streams of this game.
When i play the game on PS4, i can feel claire's running speed is slower. when i watched carcinogen and Uhtrance's speedrun, to me it seems that claire is running much faster. is it true that claire's running speed is slower on the ps4?
also, if the above is correct, then am i better off using a ps2 emulator (japanese version)?
The PS4 version actually runs slower, on PAL version - it takes an extra 6 seconds to open the menu alone, without doing anything in the menu.
Also it adds an extra 7 minutes on worth of cutscenes as its the PS2 version, so you're going to be behind any of the PS3 runs automatically.
A japanese version on emulator, wouldn't have the PAL conversion problem, so it would technically be faster than running on PS4 yes, but still significantly slower than the PS3 version.

I have to say, your speedruns are amazing! I can’t believe how good you guys are at the game, almost like a TAS! Expect some crappy speedruns from me in the future hopefully!
