I want to suggest a new category of only bosses. In this category, only the time of boss battles is counted, so this speedrun can be started with any save. Time on the map does not count so you can freely change weapons and skills

And how are we going to count this time? Calculate every second when player is on the map?

The idea was to cut out map time, and just add up the boss times. Sort of what the classic Sonic community does. That said, I think we're too ingrained in our current timing method to change something so massive. We had considered it when the game came out, but opted not to go for it. Even adding it as a separate category would be too messy
