i just had a thought that would solve the problem with emu loading times compared to consol!!!!!!! how about there is an extra colum in the leaderboard (not a new category) that said game time? so thers Game time which is without loads and then real time witch is with loads? ive seen other games have it so why not crash 2? thx fr answers but dont go crazy about this it was just an idea and i dont care if it dosnt happen i would just like to see equality 🙂

That kind of solution was already brought up a while ago and there have been some debated already. But thanks for the contribution anyway.

oh i havnt been speedrunning crash 2 for long 🙂 didnt know it had already been brought up but anyways glad i could bring it up again XD

PSX emulators should never be allowed on speedrunning, because the emulate is not accurate; consequently, remove loads on emulator is not a good idea. If we still accept emulator (most of time, they have more advatages than console in-game), FDS have to be allowed, then console gamers can still win.

This point is still NOT fair for who haven't a PS2 FDS to play. Since it is a PSX game, it should be played on a PS1, and not runned on a console that read a game on a speed that it was not programmed to support (this is the reason of why CTR crashes a lot while useing FDS).

Why did you single out those two out of all the other emulators?
psxfin and pcsx-rr came 1st and 2nd out of the emulators in multi-comparison in terms of load times.

pcsx-rr didn't finish in that. Why in the world are you using it?
It's DNF due to the audio plugin that was used, TAS sound plugin / Pete's MIDAS.
Changing it to P.E.Op.S. or Eternal fixes this issue.
Future Reference: TAS / MIDAS both actually fail at the very end too. When you defeat Cortex, you get soft-locked there.

PAL obviously. I'm not going to use NTSC bios just to get the upper hand.

Nice; however, why the hell did you list load differences while I was talking about IN GAME differences?

If you didn't get what I said, I can repeat: Emulators should not be allowed on speedrunning because it is faster than on console while IN GAME, so remove loads will not be fair for CONSOLE GAMERS because everyone will move to emulator, since it has no lag at all (if you think I am wrong, just back in the past when no one used FDS, but everything was done on emulator 🙂. This is why I defend FDS, and just because of it.

In my opinion, emulators have to be banned because:

¤ It is easy to fake (if you know anything on CTR history, you know about FernandoMingroni and the shit he did faking times using PSXfin).

¤ Faster than console (w/o loads): almost no lag. On ePSXe, Seb said that SGs are faster (CTR), so it changes the gameplay by not being accurate. if you don't know who is Seb, I'll show you: one of the best players of CTR, the first one to complete LinkZer's SC on a real lap.

¤ The most accurate emulator (THAT I KNOW, I can be wrong) done is PSXJin, and it can't even emulate a NTSC jump on CTR (look at my TAS to compare).

First of all, calm down. I actually have ZERO respect of you, and if you think that I am an unknow guy, I am not. See my ctr4ever, what I have done on the community and you'll realize that you're not talking with someone that doesn't give a shit on speedrunning. Feel free to reply it, I can still continue this discussion. However, If you wanna continue acting like a 5-years-old and repeting "Screw you TheRedhotbr up" be happy with that, then I'll ignore you. If I am wrong, proove me it, but be good instead of a dick.

Also, before I forget. PSXjin is faster than pcsx-rr when pcsx-rr gets corrected to be a little more legitimate.
It basically has psxfin style of IL.

Are we not talking about the emulator differences as well? On the first comment, what I said is that emulators should not be allowed on SPEEDRUNNING at all, and not only on Crash 2. Thats why I gave CTR as an example (I can go further here if you want).
