In the rules of speedrun.com it is writing:"Timing is done using the in-game timer, please refrain from taking long breaks mid-run." but what is a long break ? (how long)

you can assume taking something like a 10 minute break is okay tbh although whenever i do a video knowing ill submit it i try and just keep the breaks under 5 min i guess long might be 30 or more

Id say it depends on the run. If you're doing any% a long break would probably be something like 5-10 minutes maybe but in something like 202 berries or 100% a break could maybe be up to 15-30 minutes due to the size of the run and the difficulty. We usually decide this on a case by case basis, but if the total "down time" bewteen chapters during an any% run is less than 5-8min you would be on the safe side. Generally keeping the down time to a minimum would be preferred, but it's also pretty rare that runs get rejected for this. For longer categories we might be a bit more lenient with that rule as well, as long as you dont practice part of the run during those breaks on a 2nd computer on anything like that
