Haunted Scroll Wheels and NGC

Hey, I have a janky old mouse that occasionally would click the LMB whenever I would crank the scroll wheel. With the application of some electrical tape I'm now able to rip the scroll wheel and generate a steady stream of LMB inputs, faster than I'm able to click (30+ CPS) and consequently I am clearing 1M NGC ahead of the current record by several minutes. I am currently shooting for Speed Baking III and I believe it is possible.

Some games permit modded controllers (a la framewalking in M64) and some ban them - but there's no rules one way or the other for CC. I don't plan to submit, unless equipment guidelines expressly permit such modifications. I saw something in the fora here about an accepted run with 4 mice plugged in - which would potentially make 30 CPS trivial as well. Thoughts? Necessary? Get out of your sandbox?

I'm okay with it. We have a guy who uses keyboard inputs as clicking. The only argument against it I could think of is not everyone can replicate this.

Eh, I have my gripes when it comes to using the mousewheel to click There's 3rd party software that can change the properties of your mouse so it it possible to click with the mousewheel and get like 50+ cps

Just my impulse reaction, but if we allow mousewheel clicking then I guess the time for 1m NGC and potentially a couple other niche categories will go by a lot faster.

That's where I am on it too - it feels like drifting away from a discrete button input (a 'click') is not really in the spirit of the run. In your current NGC how many buttons generate an LMB click? Just LMB/RMB?

I just use a two finger tap method on the LMB in my current record. I stray away from configuring keyboard inputs, tablet buttons, etc. as I feel that's the most honest way of speedrunning Cookie Clicker To just raw click with a mouse.

well i am very late on this discussion but wouldn't it be better to just create some sub categories in fast click? Like one for mouse whell and one for keyboard inputs, because mouse whell in this case has a clearly advantage

obs: my english is very bad so sorry if there is some errors

Yes, we had a discussion on the discord which lead to the categories of leftclick and fastclick. In fastclick you can choose whatever you like, and sort by it if it is important for you. But there are to much options to make more categories, and there's no reason to start a discussion again after so many people voted for the current system
