I think that Great Plateau% would be a good race category. Should be self explanatory, but if not, all shrines in great plateau.

Upon release of the DLC, how will the leaderboards represent these categories? It only makes sense for the time being to have categories called "all dungeons" and "all main quests" when that will change in the next few months. Sure DLC could have separate categories for all dungeons and all main quests, but that makes it seem arbitrary to have a longer DLC run to include a new dungeon and possibly added main quests to what is currently defined on the leaderboards. Just my thoughts. Same issues with a filter. People care about what's faster and not what's politically correct when we say "all dungeons" or "all main quests."

To add onto that, I'm going to be the asshole that probably never has a decent run or major influence in BOTW speedruns and give my opinion on the matter.

Option 1: If the DLC doesn't influence the main story and the fifth dungeon has no impact on calamity ganon than I think it would be acceptable if separate categories were created for DLC

Option 2: If the DLC does influence the main story, my opinion is that the rules change under all dungeons and all main quests to incorporate DLC. All runs prior to that would be obsolete. I know this isn't a popular opinion and it will ruin hard work people put into their runs. I just figured I would give my 2 cents in case it has any influence come summer.

Since there is a Level Leader board as of now, is there any idea of if there will be a shrine leader board ( I know how hellish that would be to set up and look at) I know I would be able to find motivation in myself to actually run those.

I'm planning a long marathon of Zelda games to culminate in an exhaustive completion of Breath of the Wild. I invented the "True 100%" category for the purposes of this marathon, which completes every permanent task I could come up with for the game. I'm not suggesting that this ruleset be the 100% ruleset, but I think the list is worth critique as a potential list of tasks to choose from for the actual 100% run.

======================================================================== "Rules are subject to change as the game evolves, even during my run if something happens (i.e. new DLC is launched). Asterisks indicate that rule is subject to change before the run begins.

Game to be played on latest patch with all available DLC All Main Quests All Side Quests All Shrines (and Shrine Quests) All Korok Seeds Hyrule Compendium Complete All Treasure Chests Opened¤ All Great Fairies Revived All Unbreakable Weapons Obtained¤¤ All Towers Visited All Mini-Games Completed¤¤¤ All Armor, Ancient Tech Shop Items, Fang and Bone Items Purchased Once¤¤¤¤ All Field Bosses Slain Once¤¤¤¤ All Non-Amiibo Upgradeable Armor Fully Upgraded

¤This rule may be modified if there are random/respawning chests. (I do not currently know.) ¤¤I'm not currently certain how many unbreakable weapons exist in the game, nor the nature of their permanency. ¤¤¤Completed to be defined as having received all possible rewards ¤¤¤¤Rule to be eliminated if made redundant by Hyrule Compendium/Sidequests/Other Rule

ON AMIIBOS: Amiibos will be allowed, but not required unless new amiibos are released which add more quests, dungeons, or tasks to the game (for example, how the Wolf Link amiibo unlocked an extra dungeon in TPHD.) This seems highly unlikely, but possible."

=============================

As for what I'd suggest for a potential 100% run- All Main Quests All Side Quests All Shrines (and Shrine Quests) All Equipment Slots unlocked¤ Hyrule Compendium Complete¤ All Great Fairies Revived¤ All Unbreakable Weapons Obtained¤ All Mini-Games Completed¤

The ones with asterisks are maybes. While they are measurable and seem proper for a "100%" run, they tack on a LOT of time which will likely be less fun to run or watch. Even an All Quests/All Shrines run will probably end up taking a very significant amount of time. This game does not lend itself well to the traditional concept of 100% speedrunning.

I think the 3 main runs so far are probably the only needed.

Alot of the content in the game isn't in any of the official runs so far though that could fall under misc?

I've been doing a run getting the spirit orbs from the spring of wisdom, spring of courage and spring of power. The shrine in the spring of power is a major test of strength which makes for a nice mini boss to finish the run. I don't have a video capture card but I can post my route if there's any interest.

Edit: you don't need the blue flame at the ancient tech lab to activate the dragon spawns apparently. But, I haven't been able to get them to spawn without talking to Impa. If Impa isn't the trigger then it was on the way there after upgrading stamina.. maybe at dueling peaks stable? Maybe Beedle's the trigger lol.

Hello, I am new here and I am hoping this is the correct place to put this.

Could I get an "All Towers" category added to the "Miscellaneous" categories please? I wrote a route that you can find at https://pastebin.com/dxB5HBLc . I just did a run of this category last night, and would like to submit it if possible.

I realize that nobody is really interested in running this category, as it's over an hour of horse riding, but I did it anyway. Thank you for your help!

EDIT: I forgot to add that I considered the run to be visiting and activating all towers, with the ending split when the last tower says "activated", and defeating Ganon was not included because it would be pointless in this run. Thanks!

For some reason this route and the first draft of the Master Sword RTA route both go out of their way to get Doublet after Paraglider. You know the old man who gives you it is on the way from Cryo to Stasis, right? I'd route it like that, like in All Dungeons.

Stasis launch from Keh Namut to Gerudo?

I wasn't aware of the paraglider being given to you by the old man after Cryo until yesterday actually, so I would definitely consider changing it for people who don't want stamella shrooms and an extra shield.

I wrote my route without basically any knowledge of existing routes except for the any% one, and the run that I did ignores most of that (due to inexperience), so there is definitely lots of stuff missing.

There's a good reason why I put "Please improve route" in my pastebin. :)

Hey I figured I'd go ahead and post my route for the spring of courage, spring of wisdom and spring of power. Not sure what it would be called.. (blessings of the triforce)?

I just wanted a run with all 3 dragons. not sure if it fits the misc. leaderboards?

My PB is a few seconds over 1hr25min in English but can definately be improved. I died at plateau tower, broke my boko shield and couldn't do the horse sprint glitch until the pot lid at kakariko village, lost over a minute backtracking after missing the bridge to wetland stable, and might have also died accidentally nudging naydra on my way by on this run). I might have been better off not bothering with the horse sprint glitch on the second half anyways so I'm thinking 1hr15min is the type of time that might be attainable. I don't have a capture card at the moment and I'm not sure it's worth it for me but I've enjoyed routing and rerouting this so far if anyone wants to run it.

I think I've routed it as well as I'm about to right now so if anyone can improve on it please do.

Tapeman: There's another shield in the Stasis Shrine if you want to get that for another shield instead.

That is a very good point. If I do another All Towers run in the future (if it even gets accepted as a valid misc category), I will definitely grab that. Thank you! :D

How about a Cucco Death Mountain%?

The DLC is out; set Normal Mode and Master Mode as subcategories for all categories?

New category request:

All Armor

Time Starts upon selecting file start. Time stops when Dark Beast Ganon is hit with the final arrow with at least one of all the following in the inventory:
¤Old Shirt
¤Well Worn Trousers
¤Warm Doublet
¤Champion's Tunic
¤Hylian Armor Set (Hood, Tunic, Trousers)
¤Soldier Armor Set (Helm, Armor, Greaves)
¤Gerudo Armor Set (Veil, Top, Sirwal)
¤Dark Link Armor Set (Hood, Tunic, Trousers)
¤All Jewelry (Amber Earrings, Ruby Circlet, Sapphire Circlet, Topaz Earrings, Opal Earrings, Diamond Circlet)
¤All Kilton Masks (Bokoblin, Moblin, Lizalfos, Lynel)
¤All Bozai's Boots (Sand and Snow)
¤Thunder Helm

Additionally, at least one of all of the following must be in your inventory and all upgraded at least twice in order to unlock their respective Set Bonuses:

¤Snowquill Armor Set (Headdress, Tunic, Trousers)
¤Desert Voe Armor Set (Headband, Spaulder, Trousers)
¤Rubber Armor Set (Helm, Armor, Tights)
¤Flamebreaker Armor Set (Helm, Armor, Boots)
¤Zora Armor Set (Helm, Armor, Greaves)
¤Stealth Armor Set (Mask, Chest Guard, Tights)
¤Climber Armor Set (Bandanna, Gear, Boots)
¤Barbarian Armor Set (Helm, Armor, Leg Wraps)
¤Radiant Armor Set (Mask, Shirt, Tights)
¤Ancient Armor Set (Helm, Curiass, Greaves)
¤Armor of the Wild Set (Cap, Tunic Trousers)

I do not currently have video capture capabilities, so I cannot submit a run, and I'm not entirely sure of the time yet because I'm still mapping out routes and am trying a much more difficult version of this (all this plus everything that can be upgraded to Level four is done so), but my estimate is that a run under these rules should take roughly 10-12 hours.

I think there should be a Great Plateau Speedrun where someone has to beat the 4 shrines in the Great Plateau and obtain the paraglider. This would make speedruns a lot easier (unless you're on Master Mode), and anyways, there should be a different category. If there is a Dungeon speedrun, then there should be a tutorial speedrun as well. Please consider it. I would want to speedrun in that category instead of Any% which might take too long/be too hard. The Great Plateau is a perfect mixture of difficulty and easiness, so that's why I think it should be one of the categories. Timer starts when the New Game is loaded and Zelda starts talking. Timer ends when you obtain the paraglider.

I was also thinking about this for the crazy people out there, but there should be All Koroks speedrun. If there is 100% Speedrun, then there should be only an All Koroks speedrun. It would half the time taken for a 100% Speedrun, so I would definitely think about it. Timer starts when Zelda starts talking. Timer ends when you get Hestu's Gift.

New sub-category request:

In 100%, there's the Normal Tab and the Master Mode tab. Could a third tab be added titled Version 1.3.0. I know there's a 100% run using that version and there may be a few runners out there that have opted to not update to Version 1.3.1. This will allow for a place for Master Trial Glitch runs to be placed without them competing with 100% runs that can't utilize the glitch.

COME ON!! THERE IS STILL NO GREAT PLATEAU SPEEDRUN?! JUST ADD IT IN!!!

Germany

Shouting won't bring it faster. As soon as there are a few runs of it and we get informed about them we will add it

United States

@TreZc0 fine. I will do a run of it in the near future (after I am satisfied with my save file) and upload it to YouTube. Then I will request it, how about that? Then will someone add it?
