This cannot be done while using the translation patch, mostly because the menu is "broken".

The characters you have to input are the ones to the left of the numbers. Some characters are used multiple times, wich is why you can see things like "5 = 18" in the top-right corner.

For example, "5 = 18" means that the 5th character is also the 18th.

Using this password before starting the game gives the following :
