New To BFBB SpeedRuning Community. Where Should I Start?

I am new to the community and was wondering where I should start. I've been watching alot of runs of BFBB and I wanted to start running this game. I was practicing some of the tricks on a Wii and the Cruise Boosting is near impossible with a GameCube Controller, and the load times were bad. So I got an OG Xbox so I can play more completely. I saw tutorials, but they are 8 months old, and alot of the strats are outdated. Where should I begin learning on running this game?

CB isn't "near impossible" on any controller. It's a frame-perfect trick that won't be done perfectly for a long time after starting. Experienced runners make these tricks look a lot easier than they actually are.

Alright then, thanks. I'm gonna go watch it right now.

I know it isn't SHiFT, bad choice of words, but the analog triggers on the GameCube Controller specifically make it more difficult, would you agree on the that? And you are a experienced runner, so you can run on a PS2 and it would look good. You broke your own WR 3 times in a row. Congrats by the way.

They feel worse but if you're struggling to get them, it isn't the controller. I'm able to get them consistently on GC when I play for fun sometimes.

OG Xbox controller constantly drops inputs and the triggers feel like bricks. The only good controllers for running this game are 360 and PS2, and even PS2 is debatable. Running on Xbox doesn't make the game easier in any way. Even some tricks on Xbox are harder or near-impossible compared to GC because of more defined collision boxes on many objects in the game. Not to mention running with what is widely recognized as the absolute worst gaming controller made during that generation.

So if you're looking for an easier time, switching consoles isn't the answer. If you want to increase your ability to compete, getting an Xbox is a good idea. But the only way you'll make tricks easier is by practicing and taking the time to learn the run.

Good point actually. But the Xbox that I ordered has a model S controller, do you think that would help. Also, I know the tricks are harder on the OG Xbox but I want to play competitively, so I want to learn the hardest strats possible, so that I get used to the possibility of me failing them. So that way, I know eventually I can improve.

Don't get too far into learning harder tricks, learn easier tricks first, you're not going to be able to play competitively if you're just starting out, maybe this seems obvious to you, but just a heads up.

model S controller is the best controller for an og

My point exactly.

I wouldn't learn the hardest tricks yet cause it'll take forever to be able to finish a run

Everyone uses model S for Xbox speedruns, the other controller is absolute garbage.
