It is possible to add a new category Any% GlitchLess ?

Which means :

  • no dytto skip ( the effrit boss level's door)
  • no oob
  • no bombs glitch ( invulnerability, "undead" status, bombs jumps for sequence breaking)
  • destroy cristals with bombs, activate a switch or start the fire with them is allowed (also with bows)
  • no red key grab with Shade in three eyed boss cavern

Maybe I have something missing but with that rules it should be like "speed run the game but play as intended by the devs". And for me it's more funny because you don't skip levels ans it makes the game a little bit harder (even if the game is quite easy)

Well i am Against dytto skip removal, as it's not a glitch, the droplet has weight, it's not intended - yes, but it's not a glitch. Otherwise, yeah, glitchless might be a category. My old videos are under glitchless tag for sure. Also Shade grab is not a glitch as again, poor coding? Imagine not using invulframes of wheel move with dagger lmao No OOB is valid and will remove 2 full skipps. And oob should be worded as - Ali shouldn't be in oob. Like there is short skip in underpalace ( ) which will be banned then, but mostly should work fine. Fighting 3eyed in invul is glitch for sure. Bomb jumps are not glichess too same as jumping over fire etc. So if you wish to remove all the skill moments it's not gonna be named glitchless. And how do you want to word out "squence skip"? There is none such if you simply remove oob. Finishing same room faster by flying over to the part that is active and accessible even without jumping over not going to be sequence break imo. Zombie state doesn't need bombs, btw*

ok maybe Im too harsh for "glitchless" ... And bombs jumps should be allowed. But you use weird physics to get red key. (you grab from 2 different high level and need to be in a lower part to grab the key or you can't grab it). Poor coding is not where a glitch begins ?

In the end - if we create new category it should be actually usable. Make less dumb rules and think of what we are dealing with. How then we would explain pressing buttons on lower levels with bombs? How would we explain enemies on the stairs? We can't ban them, they are simply unreachable :D Thats literally part of the physics in game. Like we can use Bow Caller on the same cleave in 3 eyed dungeon to reach it with Shadow. Is it intended to grab Bow Caller with Shadow? Who knows. This tech is not used anywhere actually and not presented. Why do items have hitboxes straight into the sky? I bet we can replace red key with any other item and it will be working the same way. It is clearly intended to use Shadow to reach items if they are too far. We don't use Shadow anywhere in the run to reach items for any%, feels like banishing Shadow tool kit overall. To be fair, Devs have never told whats intended and whats not, so even if we ban Shadow grabs on different level of platforms, we will never know how this should've worked. Then dealing with Flying monsters in this game is a nightmare, hardest room and dungeon overall is Bow dungeon where Boss and 1 room are literally reset points if setup is failed. Gargoyles rooms and Shadow Mages rooms are fun :) In the end poor level design can and should be used imo, until it's not causing sequence break and sequence break would be jumping from one dungeon to another (similar to wrong warping) or using keys in wrong order, which is possible only with oob in 1 place.

You are right we should not be able to grab also the bow caller with Shade. For pressing buttons with bombs, it is just part of the game play, because there is 2 places we NEED to that to advance in the game (last level and the cavern after the boat where you find the necklace but skipped by the oob). My main reason for the glichless section is a run where you can see all the levels without doing the 100%. So no oob. But to call it glitchless there is more than only oob. So for you the glitches are only : oob, invulnerability and zombie state ?

Probably yes. To restrict more category simply can be called Restricted with explanations. Which is good fot Category extensions and for games that have some attention. For this game, you can simply run any% you want to run and be happy with that i guess. Maybe mods wake up and read this thread or you can dm them and maybe they will agree with you. Just saying how i see this can be made, still i am not a game mod. Also first time i was playing this game i was stuck for like an hour before i actually get the physics of buttons and that they can be pressed with bombs :D So even if it seems as core game play intoduction in dungeon it's still not clear, at least for everybody.

Any% Glitchless category has been added and according to your comments I wrote the rules you mentionned. Let me know if you feel like we could add/perfect this !

Because in 100% you want to include all infinite weapons too ? You already almost collect them all if I remember. Will took like 2-3 minutes to do a loop for fire bow and one metal bow.

well to be fair, you can't hold all infinite weapons. Also having max rank would be something you would want to include for 100%.

You can hold them there is only 6 infinite weapons (counting dagger) max rank will be so annoying to do.... imaging losing like 1h to just tank oàne bar damage and heal yourself and then kill one ennemi 100 times in a row to get it.

also i just tested and it took me 3h to get max rank (200). Seems like easy 100% run with all gems/max rank/ all possible pickups :D

easy or not is not the problem. Just boring to do and to watch. By the way congrats for your Agdq2022 run. You missed only one glitch on Bow's lair but it was good. (I commented it for the french restream with EvilDuckk)
