I don't know for Polaris's scaling.
Potion of Gun friendship boosts fire rate and reload speed so strong, slow single shot guns benefit the most.
Coolness is now capped at 50% so you can't completely eliminate the cooldown.
Metronome is garbage don't bother with it. It boosts a percent of the weapons damage until you switch guns, which is done automatically if you run out of ammo or find a new gun.
That's really interesting. I messed with it some. Dying at the same time as Mantis doesn't work, it puts you in the death state but you can't move any.
Dying on the frame you pick up the key may work, but I was never good at frame perfect stuff. Try firing the grenade launcher directly at the ground and walking into the key hoping that you die on the frame you pick it up?
I tried dying after picking up the key but Turok is invincible during those cutscenes. I'll mess with this more though see if I can find anything.
Ban or keep them either is fine with me though both seem like they'd get patched and have runs with those removed if the times are unbeatable.
All of the Boss Rush ones are done with quick swap, the two bullet runs on the single character use it. Spleens run uses the table tech rage glitch but I don't think that's been patched but it probably will be at some point.
The others should be fine to keep.
Also I suppose you could wipe the boards now that we've agreed to do latest patch/no major glitches
I am fine with removing quickswap times and using current patch for times. I don't think we could even revert to old versions, at least with the Steam version.
Just as I made a tutorial for it too, glad it's gone tho. Now what do we do about the times that used it?
Killing Dragun and using the gun without a bullet to kill the past is the fastest way to get to the credits tho, which is why it's any%. It's not like we just stop timer at Dragun we do hit the credits trigger with that category.
Blessed Mode could be neat, and all levels would be neat too.
Splitting runs up into characters per category, maybe. Bullet is kind of OP at the moment and quick swapping seems like a thing that'd be patched later.
Glitched chest does skip a floor though.
If you get one on the first floor or near the start of the floor that's basically skipping two floors. Yeah the boss is super hard but it still skips a lot. Granted that's assuming you get one super early with another gun. I don't know, would have to see times with a glitched chest compared to a non glitched run.
As for shortcuts, there's no sense for a shortcut category yeah, it would be akin to Spelunky having shortcut categories which it doesn't.
Glitch Chest/Shortcuts should probably be banned, maybe Bloodied Scarf but that I'm not so sure on it feels like it's been fixed but I got it to clip through doors sometimes anyway.
And regarding timers, in game is probably the fairest? If it doesn't count loads and there's no room for user error. There is a glitch with it though if you start a run from quick restart it adds a random amount of time to it so return to the breach instead of quick restarting.
Blessed Mode could be its own category maybe.
I have some runs I can add to the board right now, but there's faster times on other peoples first clears. But they'd be something to populate the boards for the moment if you're fine with that.
I do plan on doing runs soonish though yes. Just depends on how long the game wants to drag out giving me Bullet so I can see if he's vastly better than the others.
Bullet isn't that much better than the other characters it seems. I got a 22:36 as Hunter. I should stream runs soonish.
Boss Rush mode uses the ingame timer too, so probably best to stick with that. Rules are probably the same as any%. I don't think Bullet is so OP he needs his own category, tho I don't have him yet.
It has a built in speedrun timer, I guess it should just use that for timing single character.
All characters maybe should start from the title screen and clicking Play.
Also a Boss Rush category could be interesting but that's up to you.
Nuclear Throne uses RTA for its multiple character runs and IGT for single characters, it's not that weird a concept.
As for using secret characters that's probably fine, it's a rogue like, having people delete their save every run attempt to get everyone on an equal level would be a bad idea probably.

Yeah it's super cheap but it's okay. Doesn't pick up background noise, voice is clear enough that people understand me.
If you want to hear what it sounds like, and I haven't messed with the settings all that much.
