For example, if I run a long way (no speed booster) and jumped, Samus can jump too high than usual, then if she faced a wall or accidentally touched a ledge or corner, she keep jumping higher but the horizontal speed drops down to 0. Another exmple is similar to the above one but instead of facing something, Samus takes damage which also drops the speed down to 0 also stops jumping if she is in mid air.
Hi, I have some problems with controlling Samus correctly, and I always lose speed once I gain it. My question is: Is that a skill problem or there is a way to control Samus to keep speed? I already done a Ceres Escape run which finished a 42s, and was really terrible due to bad movement optimization, so I really need help, because I want to run either Any% or 100% categories. Thanks in advance.
Why 1.52 is banned? Is there advantages with snes9x 1.52 and below that had been found?
I watched some speedruns done in this version but without showing the timer in the bottom-left of the screen, so I wonder how they do that. Since we use Livesplit as an external timer, there is no need for another one that covers some part of the screen. So, how to remove that timer from the 1.1.0SR version?
Edit: Thanks to Zecks, he helped me to do so and here's how to do it: Open options.xopt with a text editor then search for this line: <option name="in-game-timer" value="1" /> then change value="1" to value="0". (Jump to line 35 for easy search). Special thanks to Zecks
It would be great if all runs have milliseconds so it can be very detailed (it is hard a bit to time all runs but if many people do that, it will be easier)
Hey, why not removing run types at all, and we will be carefree. Then anyone who wants to do any type, it will be under 11-exits, Cloud, Orb or Glitchless it doesn't matter because it is all about learning tricks and glitches, but I just suggest here only nothing more.
Well, you beat me Volpey. The reason why I was complaining is exactly because I was trying to learn this category but I couldn't even get one single cloud glit.., oh sorry, I got one after hundreds of attempts and crashed the game several times when I was practicing it, so I thought many speedrunners would have faced that too. It just came in mind that it would be fair if there are sub categories under 11-exits and that's why I posted here. Also about screwing up afterwards, even if I didn't speedrun it, I screwed up a lot in just small and easiest things in many games I speedrunned, not because I can't execute them well but because I get stressed after some hard things or getting good RNG, that's why I have this fear from killing the run after hundreds of attempts on just the beginning and then do it all over again, this is another reason why I was voting for separating. But as you said, is here where we can separate expert speedrunners from casual speedrunners, and here where the real challenge is, and not only learning normal ways to clear the game, this is the point of speedrunning: Make the challenge harder and harder (to keep your rank solid and your time unbeatable). I got the point, thank you for explaining.
Volpey, I think there is a point from separating. Many guys (including me) prefer a run that is clean from glitches and memory corruptions, and doing some hilarious glitches like Cloud is extremely hard and forces you to stay in the very first part of the game for while, which sucks a lot of time and makes the runner feel much bored from doing the same thing again and again with no good results, and even if the glitch is successfully done, the runner may screw up in the rest of the game. That's why I think many people go for Glitchless instead of Cloud or Orb for 11 exits. Only superior and skilled players that are going for the two other glitches. So, eventually, it would be fair enough if there are Cloud/Orb and Glitchless sub categories rather than filtering them on the same category, I think.
In the front page I see only the game name, category and time. I have to click on the run to know who is the player and the rank. In leaderboards, I see only rank, player name and time. Other information droped even in wide screen view, and so I can't sort runs by in-game time in Metroid Zero Mission for example. These two reasons cause me to dislike this layout so I'm hoping this can be fixed as soon as possible

I think I'm going to stay use Livesplit 1.5.2 since it's the only version that worked correctly for me, unless if someone fixed or found a solution to that bug.
First, my pc specs are: CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 @3.00 GHz RAM: 3GB GPU: Nvidia GeForce GT610 As you can see my computer can run livesplit very well, but recording or not, the issue is the same even if it is the only opened program. For some reason, whenever I downgrade to a lower version, the issue start disappearing, like from 1.6.9 to 1.6 to 1.5.2, and in my Kirby's Dream Land run, I used 1.5.2 which looks good however, many features don't exist in earlier versions like adding a background image (I know it is possible with OBS but I prefer it inside livesplit). So versions later than 1.6 are great but they contain that lagging problem. Note that I usually record the game and the timer separately except MM Rock Force and MM Unlimited as Z-Proto Easy that was recorded at the same time with Livesplit but that doesn't affect any changes to Livesplit lag issue. I was recording runs without any kind of timming but I like now a splitting program to be added to the video because splits helps me or the viewer to know what will happen next (e.g: routing a Mega Man game). About how old this thread is, actually I didn't know because my phone always show me "NaN years ago" in date in whatever place in speedrun.com or "NaN-NaN-NaN" - lol
Seriously guys, is a major problem since it makes all times inaccurate at all. Is there any solution to fix this? This happens whenever I'm using it at any time, I mean always.
