I’m so glad you included the spoiler warning. Feel free to make a run of your favorite ending and submit it to the boards. However there won’t be a new variable or sub category made for this specific purpose.
Yeah see individual levels for individual boss fights
sure enough, there is no problem if a run is not the fastest ever was or will be. feel free to post your run and good luck on your attempts! Remember to check the rules in case you need a specific setup for the openMSX emulator.
Yes you can. The boards are just empty because so far no one has posted a run yet for that particular version
In general I’m pro Turbo, but I can’t see much use of it outside of skipping cutscenes maybe. For the most part I’ve not been pressing buttons much repeatably to do a boss fight for example. Mgs2 is full of turbo advantages for boss fights. In tts i guess it cant hurt and hence feels like a “whatever” choice.
But it’ll be different between a pc enabling turbo on emu vs a console run not having The same advantages.
So idk, I’m pro turbo in general. But don’t see why it would be beneficial in this game specifically.

Happy running!
thanks, I'll watch it a bit later as I'm busy right now. but I'm aware :)
Okay, after thinking about it the following things I think should be set clearly: Stealth% means completing a game from start of R-00 to finish at the final QTE input at R-07. A maximum of 22 alerts are allowed, runs with unexplicable 23 alerts will not be accepted.
Furthermore, in your run submission we can only hear the voice audio, but the rules state we need to hear audible game audio, which includes the other game sounds (music excluded). Please make a new submission video that has both voice and general game sounds audible.
Finally, showing the credits is not mandatory, but showing the final result screen is. I agree, the other rules of not using cheat engine are covered in the general game rules obviously.
Once you have that submission ready, we can accept it and add the category to the boards.
Please link a VOD of the category that you are proposing.
Yeah, if this wasn't clear, for hardware runs there is no possibility to have the autosplitter work, it does only work for the PS2 Emulator PCXS2 (version 1.6.0) and the PC version you can buy from GOG.
Hi, what OS are you using, what version of PCXS2 are you running on, what Disc Release are you running the game on? These infos are vital to check if you can even use the autosplitter, as of currently only specific region releases are supported. For more info what emulator and region-releases are supported, see the info on the github page: https://github.com/hau5test/livesplit_asl_mgx1
And one note on "gatekeeping". All of us have lifes outside of speedrun.com, understand that not every request will be responded to immediately. thanks for understanding.
Meanwhile, you are perfectly fine to submit runs without the use of the autosplitter by either submitting a run without a timer and letting the mods time it, or manually splitting for your runs.
have a nice day.
Hi, we'll launch Any% restricted soon (today) based on the community vote that happened in the new speedrun discord for this game. Join it following the discord link on this game's page and join the discussion. It should meet your asked for limitations as a category.
Yay! Very happy this is allowed to be used now. A win for runners
