Presumably speed inconsistencies between hardware and emulation. Afaik, there are no glitches that are used in the run so it can't be an emulator specific glitch. It is very common for speedrun boards to break us up because emulator will consistently hit max speed whilst the console will lag, causing slowdown and thus time loss. (Seek & Destroy is INFAMOUS for this.)

Asapaska, is RNG advancing based on framerate? If so, there's a way to account for that.

@CriscoWild I somehow doubt that since this is akin to getting asked "Would you like to spend more time playing?" and answering yes. (This is literally what it is actually) To be more specific, when you defeat the first boss you get transferred to the room where you choose your race and class, at this part you can choose to go to the online world or carry on the offline story. The run chooses to carry on which takes the run from 20 minutes...to 2 hours.

I had noticed that myself. I've only played the PC version so when I saw the N64 runs I was confused to say the least. (It seems to be the faster version however)

That's rather strange behaviour...and a shame, I was hoping to try running the game too since it's quite short. I at least wanted to check where time starts and stops but I noticed their run ends at a point I have never seen.

PS: I don't really understand the offline mode run, isn't the goal to finish the offline section as fast as possible? So why do they do the optional story stuff?

Hi, I was interested in running the game but I generally don't do runs where glitches are a thing. (Mostly because I can never follow what's happening.) I was curious if a glitchless category could be added?

I've been trying to find a selection of games that DO allow the emulator since all that I've checked are either not on the website or don't allow it. This site doesn't have much in the way of a blacklist / whitelist either.

I know it might be a lot of work but could anyone see if there's a time difference with the different languages? I imagine English is a lot slower than German for instance since we naturally talk quite slow.

No, there's no lag on emu assuming your PC isn't a potato. I have more performance issues from OBS than I do S&D on PCSX2.

Whilst it'd be cool to have that it won't help. The main problem I think is that the game slows down on console when it lags, which it does...a lot...to the point where some runners quit entirely cuz they couldn't handle the framerate issues. So the main issue stems from the PS2 itself having performance issues which couldn't be resolved, it might be fine on PS3's back compatibility though.

I'm not so sure it'd be 2 hours, let's assume each playthrough is half an hour, only the final run would need to be longer cuz of the battle arena and races, so let's tack an hour to the start, you've already likely got the money from the main game to buy all the equipment so all you need to really do is find a way to consistently win the mini-games which should be easy enough with the right equipment...maybe approaching the 2 hour mark?

Well you get every tank on the screen when you confirm after a mission but you also get more tanks when you do alternative versions of missions like when you fight in the town rather than fighting the plane or I think when you fight the first castle and the run-down looking town (I seriously remember none of the names) in the opposite order of the speedrun but I could be wrong about the latter one.

Maybe what Rubii wants is an "all missions%" or "mini-games%" but if there's more potential ideas then that'd be cool to consider.

There's also 2 weapons (One is useless tho) and a flag which I usually use in my runs cuz it reduces your weight, so you might get the weapon? I agree tho, probably not worth it.

PS3 is not an option as far as I see, hopefully the moderators will add that. I personally don't see an issue with adding it as a platform and wouldn't call it "emulation" in the sense that the tag is likely meant for.

It's been a while since I've played on my PS2 but what do you mean inaccurate? Faster load times? If so, fair enough, although from the little I've seen, cases like that just end in their own category.
