Hey! Thanks for getting this game up! It's been a lot of fun so far! :) I had a question about dialogue skipping. Is it okay to remap the dialogue skip key to the mouse scroller, or should I keep button mashing? Does it even matter? I'm new to speedrunning, so I don't want to do anything that's frowned upon, but the mouse scroll would cut off minutes from the run. Thanks!

How would you go about remapping the period key to the scroll wheel? Is this in the game options or is it by using third party software?

Personally I am not happy with this, I would rather everyone remain on an even footing and run the game as is.

But what do other people think?

well, third party software like Joy2Key would be a big no-no I imagine since that's usually frowned upon. I Imagine that there might be a way to remap keys via the Prefs file, but I'm not sure if that would even work or how to go about it.

I'll keep on button mashing, no complaints here :)

The game options allow mapping of certain keys to other ones. That seems fine to me. You might prefer to have P as pick up and U as use, etc. I also think if someone had a joypad and wanted to map pickup to a joypad button and use to another one, that would be fine. But mapping skip to the mousewheel or something else would require third party software and shouldn't be allowed. Otherwise, there would be a lot of trying to map buttons or even sequences of buttons (mapping double click to click might be helpful) and everyone has to learn all this third-party stuff instead of just playing the game.

If it is a part of the in game options then I'm OK with it. For example: If you wanted to speed up the dialog, which is something you can do but wont save much time because you should be skipping it yourself (also personally I like to keep it on default)

Remapping the keys that you can do is fine because it is a part of the game, even if you have to find the prefs file to do it.

Any use of third-party software is NOT allowed. I think we are all happy with that.
