This guide assumes that you have played through Suikoden before casually, and you know how to advance through the story (i.e. who to talk to, where to go, etc). This guide also assumes that if you fight a random battle with the “Let go” option, you use Let go, as it is a guaranteed escape. It is up to you if you fight random battles without the Let go option. It may take a few runs to figure out which encounters are worth fighting and which should be escaped from. With all drops from encounters, you should either throw them away or sell them at your earliest convenience. They do little more than clog up your inventory and you don’t need any random drops (unless otherwise indicated in the 100% route)

  1. Beginning of the game – Gregminster a. The timer typically starts after hitting “OK” after selecting your name b. Before talking to Teo, pull up the menu, go to Options, then set message speed to High c. Mash through text by mashing L1+X or L2+O – L1 doubles for O, while L2 doubles for X d. When you get back to Teo’s house, head up the right staircase, as it is slightly faster e. There is no need to do anything special; just advance the story until you reach Magician’s Island
  2. Magician’s Island a. You do not need to pick up any treasures here b. You should fight enough random battles to get to level 2 before fighting the Golem – this will typically take two fights c. At level 2, the Golem should die in two turns – McDohl will attack, Gremio and Pahn Unite, and Cleo and Ted will attack d. The Golem will put you at high level 3 or level 4 – if you are not level 4, you should probably fight some random encounters on the world map before going to Rockland
  3. Gregminster a. When you get back to Gregminster, head to the castle to advance the story b. BEFORE LEAVING GREGMINSTER, make sure to head to the Rune shop and attach the Fire Rune to Cleo c. If you are not level 4, you should fight random battles on the world map until you are. This is important because it will get Cleo enough Magic for two Flaming Arrows spells, and you need two of those for the boss
  4. Rockland a. As you enter the town, head to the inn and stay – this will heal your MP, and Cleo should have 2/0/0/0 b. Advance through the story normally
  5. Mt. Seifu a. You will want to pick up a few treasures here, as you need 10,000 bits later on for a trick we will use b. When you get to the fork that looks like a hand, you should take the ring finger path to get a Defense rune piece – Do not use it; we will sell it for 1,500 bits. The middle finger route will take us onward c. When you see two chests on the left, the bottom-left chest contains Medicine 6, which is optional (if you have used any Medicines so far, consider taking it). The top-left of the two chests contains an Escape talisman, which you should always get and make sure it goes into McDohl’s inventory. DO NOT GET RID OF THE ESCAPE TALISMAN! We will use it later d. Continue on until you fight the Queen Ant – this is a scripted encounter which will end after three turns. The fastest thing to do is try to Run, but if she does a lot of damage on the first turn, you might want to Defend with everyone and heal someone on the second turn. Despite the scripted nature of the fight, I have died on the SECOND turn before and gotten a Game Over. It’s up to you if you want to roll the dice or heal up for safety. e. After the third turn and Ted’s scene, MAKE SURE TO HEAL. Only Ted will be healed from the Queen Ant fight. After healing up, swap Ted and Gremio in the formation (the front row should be McDohl/Ted/Pahn, and the back row will be Cleo/Gremio). f. When you see a chest in the top-right, that is a Thunder Rune Piece – take it, as we will sell it for 500 bits g. Heal when you see the save point. For the Bandit x5 fight, you should be able to use Free Will to autobattle, but if McDohl, Gremio, or Cleo are low on HP, they should be healed. h. Varkas/Sydonia: McDohl should attack either (or Defend or Heal, up to you). Ted should attack Sydonia. Pahn will Unite with Gremio and attack Sydonia. Cleo uses Flaming Arrows on Varkas. Sydonia should die. On the second turn, McDohl should Defend, Ted can do whatever, Pahn/Gremio can Unite, and Cleo should Flaming Arrows Varkas again. Varkas will die. i. After the fight (either on the EXP screen or at the menu), you should check Cleo’s MGC stat. It needs to be 41+ (at level 7 it will be 39, 40, 41, or 42). If it is below 41, you are going to need to fight random battles on the world map, but you don’t need to deviate from the route to do so until I say
  6. Rockland a. When you get to the town, head up the left side of the town to get to the mansion, as there is an optional scripted event on the right side. On the way out of the mansion and town, head down the right side and into the item shop, so that you can sell your Defense Rune Piece and Thunder Rune Piece b. Before you step into Gregminster, make sure Ted has nothing of consequence, as he is about to leave forever (this shouldn’t be the case unless you got a ton of drops from encounters)
  7. Gregminster a. There is a lot of text mashing and story nonsense to go through, but there are two dialogue options to be wary of – I will call them Option 2s, as you will need to manually scroll down to the second choice in order to advance the text. The first is when Ted offers to be the bait while you, Gremio, and Cleo escape, after Kraze and Pahn storm in. The second will happen later, when you talk to Viktor and he offers to help you escape the city. b. Viktor will join you briefly, but you do NOT need to move him to the front of the Formation yet, as he will leave again when you reach Lenankamp
  8. Lenankamp a. Head straight to the inn when you arrive, and then advance the story b. When Viktor joins you the second time, after talking to the bandit, now you will move him to the front row (swap out Cleo) c. You will be heading back to Rockland – if Cleo does NOT have 41+ MGC, you will have to grind random battles until she does
  9. Rockland a. Stay at the inn when you arrive; Cleo’s MP should be 3/1/0/0 (the 1 is what’s important) b. As you head through the mansion, there are two forced encounters with Empire Soldier x2 – you can just Free Will these. No need to pick up any chests for now c. There is a fight with six soldiers at the very end; this is why you needed 41+ MGC. Cleo has a level 2 Firestorm spell, which you will use to kill all the soldiers at once d. After rescuing the bandits and heading back into the mansion, head directly right into the side room; there should be two chests with 1,700 bits. This should put you over 10,000 bits e. After saying goodbye to the bandits, it’s time to play the Marco game. This will get you the money you need for the rest of the game, and it’s a little complicated to explain, so when you’re learning the route, a safety save here might be beneficial! f. The Marco game is unique in that for the first time you can play it, here in Rockland, his 1k and 10k bet patterns are predetermined; exactly what those patterns are depends on your game version. So you will need to play through his game to find your patterns (my game has one very common pattern and four uncommon ones; your mileage may vary). If you have under 10,000 bits when you get here, the 1k and 10k bet patterns are the same, but make sure NOT to choose 100 bits, as that will ruin the pattern. The pattern resets when you exit out of the game and then talk to him again. g. You will want to play the Marco game 4-6 times; this will give you between 50,000 and 70,000 bits for the rest of the game
  10. Lenankamp a. Nothing special to do here, just advance the story. Odessa is L-range so no need to move her in the formation
  11. Mt. Tigerwolf a. There are no treasures to pick up here, so you can ignore all of them b. Your levels should be good enough to Let go the Rabbits and Slimes that pop up here, but the Snails will be too high level for that. Snail x1 can be killed in one turn through Free Will, but you should consider trying to Run from Snail x2 c. When you meet Ledon, there is another Option 2 when he offers you tea. Otherwise, mash through the text normally d. When you wake up in the morning, talking to both Ledon and Kessler will trigger the rest of the party waking up e. Continue onwards and north to Sarady
  12. Sarady a. Head to the inn and continue on with the story b. After dropping off the blueprint, you will need to head back the way you came through the mountain and all the way back to Lenankamp
  13. Lenankamp a. When you head back to the inn, there is a scuffle in the hideout – Odessa leaves b. Head straight down all the way (ignore all the side areas), past the scream, and head west at the bottom c. You will use Cleo’s Firestorm on this battle as well to one-shot the soldiers d. There is another Option 2, when Odessa tells you to dump her body in the stream e. After Odessa dies, you should stay at the inn before you leave, as you will need Cleo’s Firestorm replenished very soon
  14. Kwaba a. Mash through the text, as it doesn’t matter what fake name you pick b. There is an Option 2 when Gremio asks for forgiveness, after you get by Ain Gide and the soldiers c. After heading through Kwaba, you should head to KAKU first, not Seika, and you will see why shortly (Kaku is southwest of Seika, on the shore of the lake)
  15. Kaku a. Head to the item shop here and buy one Holy crystal b. Head back northeast to Seika
  16. Seika a. Go to the rune shop here and attach your Holy crystal to Gremio – this will allow you to dash (you only need to buy one in this category because eventually you will switch it over to Viktor) b. In Seika, you should talk to Mathiu outside his house. Then talk to the kid in the back of his house, who says that Mathiu is out for a walk. Then you talk to Mathiu again, who shuns you and heads back. Then go to his house and talk to him AGAIN, then leave his house to continue the story c. This is another soldier fight that you should use Firestorm to one-shot d. There is another Option 2 in the Mathiu dialogue after this; it’s the second choice he offers e. Stay at the inn before you leave the town; head directly south to the Great Forest
  17. Great Forest a. Head east to the path b. You cannot advance past the first screen without Kirkis, but you can still fight encounters c. You will want to fight a Kobold x6 fight and Firestorm it; every other fight should be escaped d. This will boost your levels to 22-23 and allow you to use fire spells on the Zombie Dragon e. After beating the Kobold x6, stay at the inn, then walk back to Kaku
  18. Kaku a. Talk to Camille, then go downstairs to talk to Tai Ho b. When in the game, Option 2 to skip the rules of the game c. This game is luck-based so be patient, then talk to Tai Ho outside to sail to Toran Castle
  19. Toran Castle a. There is one treasure here that you need to pick up b. Make your way through the dungeon c. On the last screen, you will see a treasure chest through a vertical wall. You can sneak through the wall and grab the chest, a Wind crystal, which you need to make sure goes to McDohl, Gremio, or Viktor d. The Zombie Dragon is weak to fire, so use Cleo’s Fire spells (strongest first, then next strongest, etc) and attack. Camille and Tai Ho will die, but they don’t need the EXP. You might need to heal, because this battle takes 5-6 turns e. Name the castle whatever you like (just naming it A is fastest) f. After Gremio, Viktor, and Cleo come with you to Lepant’s, you should add Luc
  20. Kaku a. You want to recruit Sergei from the bar (where you met Camille), since he gives you an elevator for your castle b. Kouan is southwest-ish of Kaku
  21. Kouan a. Talk to Giovanni, then Krin in the inn (you should not need to stay at the inn) b. There are no treasures that you need to get in the mansion c. OPTIONAL: Recruit Rock in the mansion. You do not need him, but recruiting him takes minimal time and adds a few soldiers to your war battles d. The wheel is entirely random and can end a good run, so be patient with it. Dancing Flames will oneshot a robot group; two Firestorms will kill them; a Deadly Fingertips or Shredding will one-shot a single robot e. If you get a lot of items from the wheel, you should shuffle them around. Give all Medicines to Gremio or Cleo, and throw away any Fortune Rune Pieces f. When you are back at the inn, Lepant will have two dialogue choices; they are BOTH Option 2 choices g. If you don’t have two Firestorms, stay at the inn before going after Lepant. Cleo will have two level 2 spells h. There will be two forced soldier fights in the mansion (do not go after treasures). Firestorm both of them i. Talk to Lepant and Pahn to recruit them both; Pahn’s dialogue requires an Option 2
  22. Toran Castle a. Head to the first floor to find the bandits and continue the story b. The Assassin will run away on the third turn; try to Run three times c. When Kirkis and Gremio join you to head to the Village of the Elves, you should talk to Mathiu to add Viktor, Cleo, and Luc
  23. Great Forest a. There are no treasures here to pick up b. Head through the Great Forest, recruiting Viki along the way c. If you encounter Kobold x6, use a Firestorm to kill them. You want to get Kirkis a few levels before fighting the next boss, around 19/20 will suffice d. After getting through the Kobold Village, head southeast to get to the Village of the Elves
  24. Village of the Elves a. Go to the rune shop. You need to remove Luc’s Wind Rune and Gremio’s Holy Rune. Attach your two Wind Runes to Kirkis and Gremio, and attach the Holy Rune to Viktor b. You should stay at the inn, either on the way in or on the way out c. When in prison, talk to Valeria, then approach and talk to the right gate d. Valeria will join the team; boot Luc in her place e. Change the Formation to McDohl/Valeria/Viktor, Cleo/Kirkis/Gremio f. Head northeast from the Village of the Elves to get to the Dwarf Trail
  25. Dwarf Trail a. There are no treasures here that you need to pick up b. If Kirkis is still not level 19-20, you should fight some random battles with multiple enemies. Eagle men will die to one Firestorm, but Dwarves will not; use Deadly Fingertips or Valeria’s Falcon Rune to kill them c. Head through the mountain and head northeast to the Dwarf Village
  26. Village of the Dwarves a. Stay at the inn b. You should head over to the blacksmith and temper McDohl’s weapon to level 9
  27. Dwarven Vault a. There is one treasure to get here; it is probably optional depending on your money situation b. Battles should be escaped from c. When you get to the three-lever puzzle, I use the switch order of middle, left, right. When heading down the right side, the treasure chest contains a Sunbeam crystal, which sells for 10,000 bits. This is up to you if you want to grab it for selling d. When you get to the sliding platforms, take the far-right one, then south to get across fastest e. When you get to the two buttons that sound like a phone dial, the pattern is 1, 2, 2, 1, 1, 1, 2, 2 f. Gigantes is weak to wind and immune to fire. McDohl, Viktor, and Cleo should attack; Valeria should use Falcon Rune; Kirkis and Gremio should use Shreddings before they attack g. After getting the Running Water Root, you should use the Escape talisman that McDohl has from Mt. Seifu. If you don’t have it, you’ll have to either find the spare one inside the vault or walk out
  28. Village of the Dwarves a. For an upcoming fight, you will need a Dancing Flames (level 3 fire spell, if you have Cleo). If you used it, heal at the inn b. Talk to the dwarf chief, then head back through the trail and towards the Village of the Elves
  29. Dwarf Trail a. Nothing here, just head back
  30. Burnt Village of the Elves a. After watching the scene with Kirkis, you can reenter to recruit Templeton. This is optional, but I usually recruit him to get the minimap for help navigating the world map
  31. Kobold Village a. For the soldier fight, use Dancing Flames
  32. Pannu Yakuta Castle a. Some war battles have predetermined turns, and those will be pointed out. For this one, Kwanda will ALWAYS Charge on the first turn b. You should use Magic on the first turn (for a free 3800 damage), then use your Thieves (in Others) to try to find out what the enemy will do. If the Thieves fail, it is mostly random if you succeed; I tend to use Charge since we have so many Charge units compared to Bow or Magic. Hopefully you can succeed without major incident c. In the castle, there are no treasures to pick up, and you don’t need to redo the Formation, as it is very short d. For the Dragon, use your Shreddings (it is also weak to wind) and Valeria’s Falcon Rune. He will probably not kill anyone (he might kill Kuromimi but that’s fine) e. Before heading outside on the top floor, make sure McDohl is healed f. For the duels, if you make the correct decision every time, you will only see 12 possible dialogues from Kwanda (out of the 30 he can give you normally) i. Kwanda will attack (You should DESPERATE): Damn! I underestimated you. / Heh, now it’s my turn. / Taste the sharpness of my blade! / Whoa! Pretty good, Teo’s little boy. ii. Kwanda will defend (You should ATTACK): Arghhh! I underestimated you. / Can you break my invulnerable defenses? / Carefully… / Damn! My turn! iii. Kwanda will desperate attack (You should DEFEND): I’ll get you! / Impossible! You can’t avoid my blows! / Victory is near! I strike with all my might! / Well done. You’re a worthy opponent. g. When you talk to Kwanda afterwards, you will Option 2 twice to spare his life, otherwise he will die. The time difference is maybe 2-3 seconds, and he will bring you 300 troops for war battles. I always spare him
  33. Toran Castle a. Talk to Flik and Mathiu on the third floor, then when he leaves, warp to Kaku
  34. Kaku a. When talking to Flik, there will be an Option 2 to recruit him
  35. Toran Castle a. Take the elevator to the third floor to get to Mathiu and Flik; talk to Flik to advance
  36. Garan a. This war battle will NEVER use Magic, so you can always use Charge (mashing X through will accomplish this) and win this battle in 2-3 turns b. After failing at Scarleticia and agreeing to send a recon team, you will have another mandatory Option 2 to bring Gremio along. After the scene, Mathiu will still be there – talk to him and add Stallion to the party c. You should exit Garan to the east, then immediately re-enter. Kai will be there; talk to him to recruit him (you will need him soon) d. Head north to get to Teien (note: the random battles on the world map here are a pain. Be careful)
  37. Teien a. Head to the inn to find Hellion; talk to her to recruit her. The chest to the right contains the Blinking Mirror; give it to McDohl b. Since you have Stallion, now would be a good time to navigate to some towns you will need to access later. Doing so now will let you warp there from Toran Castle, and Stallion will let you run faster on the world map c. From Teien, you should head west to Antei. Enter and then exit to get its warp point d. From Antei, head south to Soniere Prison. Like Antei, enter and then exit to get its warp point e. From Soniere, head east to the town of Rikon
  38. Rikon a. Go to the item shop; buy three Earth Runes (give two to McDohl and one to Flik) b. Take the boat south towards Liukan’s hermitage, and once you hit the rapids and can’t advance, use the Blinking Mirror to head back to base
  39. Toran Castle a. Warp to Teien
  40. Teien a. Talking to Gen requires an Option 2 for him to join b. Recruiting Kamandol will require you to boot Stallion c. To get to Rikon, you can either walk south from Teien (and risk a random battle) or use the Blinking Mirror to head back to base, then immediately warp to Rikon with Viki. I tend to warp, but it’s up to you. If you don’t get any random battles, walking is faster
  41. Rikon a. There is nothing but mashing here, and once you get the upgraded boat, you should sail south to Liukan’s hermitage b. After Liukan gets kidnapped, leave the hermitage and use the Blinking Mirror to warp back
  42. Toran Castle a. Talk to Sanchez to remove Gen and Kamandol; add Kai in their place (the sixth slot should be empty) b. After talking to Mathiu and getting his letter, warp to Antei
  43. Antei a. Go to the rune shop; Option 2 to commission a job, then remove Flik’s Lightning Rune and fit him with his Earth Rune b. Recruit Kimberly, then recruit Tesla; use the Blinking Mirror after getting them both
  44. Toran Castle a. Talk to Mathiu to get the fake letters, then warp to Soniere
  45. Soniere a. No treasures that you need to get here b. The random battles here are easy enough that you should consider fighting some of them. The Viperman/Delf fights should be escaped from, but Nightmares and Red Slimes you should use McDohl and Kai’s Unite attack, with the other three using regular attacks as support c. There are two forced soldier fights here; Flik can one-shot them with a Voice of Earth d. Make sure Gremio has nothing important, as he will die here (again, he should not unless you have an absurd amount of random drops) 46. Toran Castle a. Nothing to do here except talk to Mathiu to head to Scarleticia Castle
  46. Scarleticia a. Milich will always use Charge on the first turn, then Magic on the second turn b. First turn: use Magic. Second turn: use Bow. Then use Thieves and counter accordingly. Again, if Thieves fail, I tend to use Charge more often than anything else, since you will have a lot more Charge units than others c. When raiding the castle, don’t add anyone else d. Head up the right side of the castle to find the chest with the Magic Robe – equip this on McDohl. The other chests here are unnecessary e. Milich, like Kwanda, can be spared with two Option 2 dialogue choices. It is highly, highly recommended that you spare Milich. He provides the third Magic unit in the game, and if you kill him, you will only have two for the entire game
  47. Toran Castle a. Talk to Kasumi on the 3rd floor to advance the scene b. This next war battle is unwinnable, but there is a trick to make it go slightly faster
  48. Battle with Teo a. This war battle is unique because the stronger unit you throw at Teo, the stronger he counters. So if you send your weakest Charge units at him, he will only do minimal damage each turn. So for this battle, send your three weakest Charge units at him, and it will go slightly faster than it would normally b. Pahn will ask to stay behind; this is an Option 2 dialogue choice c. As this is any%, Pahn will die. You should Desperate attack no matter what, and this will let Pahn die on the first turn regardless of Teo’s move
  49. Toran Castle a. Head to bed on the fourth floor to advance the story b. Talking to Flik will trigger the scene c. After the dialogue, leave the room and come back in; talk to Sanchez to add Tai Ho and Stallion to the party d. Head outside to the boat, then take it to Kirov to the northwest
  50. Kirov a. You should be healed so no need to stay at the inn (if you want to check, you should have three Black Shadows, the level 2 Soul Eater spell)
  51. Kalekka a. You will probably fight random encounters in here; Black Shadow should kill all of them. It would be good to fight at least one good encounter here to get McDohl’s level into the mid-30s
  52. Secret factory a. After the scene, you can recruit Ledon and Kessler by talking to them. They are optional, but I recommend them (at the very least you should get Ledon) b. Kage is inside at the back-left; he costs 20,000 bits to recruit. You should have that much money, and it’s well-worth it since he’s a Ninja for your war battles c. After talking to Mose, you should exit and then Blinking Mirror back to base d. Warp to Kirov
  53. Kirov a. Rest in the inn (to ensure you have full health), then talk to Kun To in the big house in the middle b. After the scene where you load up the boats, set sail to the world map, then Blinking Mirror out
  54. Battle with Teo a. You can mash X to Charge and it will always resort in a victory. Optionally, you can use Strategists on the first turn before mashing Charge to beat the battle quicker b. Like the other two duels, if you do everything correctly, you will only see 12 of Teo’s messages, out of the 30 total he can give you: i. Teo will attack (You should DESPERATE): Did you see that coming? / Here I come, my son. / That was nothing. Now it’s my turn. / That was pretty good. Now it’s my turn. ii. Teo will defend (You should ATTACK): I’ll see you coming next time! / I’m losing my cool. I must be more cautious! / Show me what you’ve learned. / Well done! I must be more careful too. iii. Teo will desperate attack (You should DEFEND): Are you trying to surpass me? / My deadly sword… / My sword is the Emperor’s sword! / Now that I’ve seen what you’ve got, c. After the cutscene, you will head to the fourth floor and talk to Lepant
  55. Lorimar a. When Mathiu asks you to round out your team, add Kirkis, Stallion, and Luc to the team b. Make sure to Option 2 to finalize your team c. Warriors’ Village is southwest of Lorimar
  56. Warriors’ Village a. After the dialogue and cutscenes, you will have a scripted fight with Neclord. He is impossible to kill, and the story continues when you die. Keep choosing Run to die faster b. Talk to Zorak, then head west to Qlon temple
  57. Qlon a. There is a bed in the northwest inside that will heal you if you walk through it; use it if you have used any spells on the way to Qlon b. There are no treasures inside the cave that you need to get c. The random battles in here are relatively easy to fight. If there is a Clay Golem, it will need to be instant killed (Deadly Fingertips alone, Hell if there are more than one). For the other enemies, Kirkis and Stallion have a Wild Arrow unite that will kill them in one hit. If you run out of Hells, using both a Black Shadow and a Wild Arrow attack will also kill the Clay Golems d. This is a dungeon you might want to go through and figure out the path through before doing full runs, as there are quite a few side rooms that you do not need to go through e. When you get to the Village of the Past, when leaving out the back with Ted, there is a healing spot along the water to the east. It might be tricky to find the spot. If you don’t find it, you can just stay at the inn later f. After the village has burned down, but before heading back, the house in the SE has a Champion crystal inside – you should get it to sell for 100,000 bits g. Once you get the Star Dragon Sword, after coming back to the present, use Stallion’s Escape talisman (it is an infinite-use Escape talisman that we will use once more) h. Walk southeast to get Neclord’s Castle as a warp point, then walk back to the Warriors’ Village
  58. Warriors’ Village a. Talk to Zorak to have him send the troops to Neclord’s castle b. Go to the item shop to sell the Champion’s crystal; buy three Lightning Runes (give two of them to Viktor and one to McDohl) c. If you could not find the healing spot in the Village of the Past, use the inn here before heading out d. Blinking Mirror back to base
  59. Toran Castle a. Head to the fourth floor; remove Kirkis from the party and add Hellion b. Warp to Seika
  60. Seika a. Go to the inn and recruit Marie b. Go to the rune shop. Remove Cleo’s Fire Rune. Attach Viktor’s Lightning Runes to Cleo and Luc c. Leave and Blinking Mirror back to base; warp to Kirov
  61. Kirov a. Buy a few Medicines for Stallion b. Now you need to buy some Sacrificial Buddhas. Buy three for McDohl, three for Viktor, two for Cleo, six for Luc, and six for Hellion c. Blinking Mirror back to base; warp to Neclord’s Castle
  62. Neclord’s Castle a. Hix will ask to come along; Option 2 will let him join b. Boot Stallion out to let Hix join; give Hix two Sacrificial Buddhas (one from Luc and one from Hellion) c. There are no treasures in here to pick up d. The enemies here are a pain – if we do not fight them, we run the risk of failed escapes, which can kill us, as these enemies are difficult e. The Larvae can be Free Will’d if there are one or two, and Black Shadow for three. Demon Sorcerers can be Black Shadow’d. For Hell Unicorns, you should use Deadly Fingertips if they are alone, or Hell if there are a lot of enemies with it f. When you get to the paintings, you should click them in this order (assuming they are 1, 2, 3, 4 from left to right): 3, 2, 4, 1 g. In the coffin room, talking to the top-right coffin will allow you to heal in an Option 2; this is required to get your MP back for Neclord. If you can help it at all, save four Black Shadows for Neclord; use Hell in its place h. Attempt to run from Neclord on the first turn; this will trigger Viktor breaking Neclord’s barrier. This prevents you from wasting MP against his barrier i. Use Black Shadows with McDohl, attack with Viktor and Hix; have Cleo and Luc use the strongest Lightning spells they can, and have Hellion use Earthquake (level 3 Mother Earth spell) j. You cannot use the Escape talisman to leave, so you will have to walk back out k. Use the coffin on the way down to heal your HP and MP l. Viktor will ask to leave; you should choose Option 2 to let him go m. Once you leave the castle, Blinking Mirror back to base
  63. Toran Castle a. Talk to Mathiu on the fourth floor, and choose Option 2 to head to the Dragon’s Den b. Leave the room and come back in; talk to Sanchez to add Stallion, Hellion, and Liukan to the party c. Warp to Scarleticia; from there, head northwest to reach the Dragon’s Den
  64. Dragon’s Den a. Talk to the guard, then head east to get to Antei
  65. Antei a. After talking to Vincent, head to the runemaster and talk to Jeane to recruit her
  66. Dragon’s Den a. There are no chests in here worth getting b. The Sunshine King needs to be instant killed; the other enemies can be Black Shadow’d
  67. Dragon Knights’ Fortress a. Fuma is on the right side of the castle hidden; you should recruit him because he is another Ninja for war battles b. There is a free inn inside to the right if you need it
  68. Seek Valley a. There are no chests here that you need b. Enemies here can be dealt with using Hell; you should not fight too many on the way through c. Humphrey, Stallion, and Milia should attack the Crystal Core, while McDohl should use Black Shadows, Flik should use Voice of Earths, and Hellion should use Earthquakes d. Once you see the cutscene with Ted and Windy, use Stallion’s Escape talisman again
  69. Dragon Knights’ Fortress a. After gaining control of Futch, the first plant on the right is the black dragon orchid b. After seeing the scenes and getting Futch and Joshua, you will warp back using Thrash
  70. Toran Castle a. Head to the fourth floor to see the cutscene; Option 2 when the dialogue choice comes up b. Go to your room to rest, then do Option 2 again with Mathiu comes in to talk to you c. Talk to Mathiu when you wake up to head to Moravia
  71. Northern Checkpoint a. There are no predetermined turns here, but using Ninjas will let you win in one or two turns easily b. When you are prompted to pick your team, add Cleo, Stallion, and Tengaar
  72. Moravia a. There is an inn on the first screen in the top-right corner b. There are no chests here worth getting c. Random encounters here are very dangerous. If there is a Whip Master, use Hell. If there is a Magus, use Black Shadow. If there is a Ninja or Elite Soldier, use Storm. If you need to heal, use Stallion’s Medicines liberally (McDohl, Cleo, and Tengaar need to stay alive) d. Blinking Mirror back to base after Kasim joins
  73. Toran Castle a. Rest at the inn. Use Jeane to attach Lightning Rune to Tengaar b. Talk to Mathiu and choose Option 2 to let him prepare the boats; mash through the text c. Head outside towards your boat, then Option 2 again to go to Shazarazade
  74. Shazarazade a. There are no predetermined turns in this fight b. First turn: use Dragon Attack. Then use Ninjas and attack accordingly. If necessary, resort to Thieves c. When prompted, add Cleo, Tengaar, Luc, and Hellion d. Give Tengaar two Sacrificial Buddhas (one from Luc and one from Hellion) e. No treasures to get in this dungeon f. For the Shell Venus, use Lightning spells and Earthquakes. He will probably die in two turns, so you only need to use one level 4 Lightning spell per person g. For Sonya Shulen, use McDohl’s Judgments, Hellion’s Earthquakes, and Lightning spells
  75. Toran Castle a. Stay at the inn on the first floor b. At Jeane, remove Luc and Tengaar’s Lightning Runes, and attach Earth Runes to them c. Talk to Mathiu on the fourth floor; there are two Option 2s to get to the last battle

  78. Toran Castle a. Stay at the inn, then warp back to Gregminster
  79. Gregminster a. There are eleven forced soldier fights. You need to save four Earthquakes per person for the final boss, but you can use any extras for these forced encounters. Alternatively, use two Voices of Earth from Tengaar/Luc/Hellion. You should try to balance them so that nobody runs out, but try to avoid using Hellion until later because her speed is low enough that soldiers will probably get a turn before she gets her spell off b. For the final boss, use Earthquakes and Voices of Earth with Flik, Tengaar, Luc, and Hellion. McDohl should use Judgment on the middle dragon head since it is resistant to earth, and Black Shadow after that (if you have three Judgments, save the third Judgment for the fourth turn and use a Black Shadow on the third turn). Viktor should attack the middle head. c. Both Viktor and Flik will stay behind to let you escape; each will require an Option 2 d. You win! Timing stops when the last text boss from Liukan disappears, as that is the last input you will need to do e. Enjoy the credits
