"Beginner" Guide 1.1.45

Hi! I am Devon. Welcome to A comprehensive guide for the current "Beginner" speedrunning techniques in "Size Matters" Patch 1.1.45. 

I recommend renaming the chemicals to close friends, memorable names, or something that sticks in your head because the chemical names tend to be confusing.

The Chemical Processor is the most used tool in this run, We will use it a total of 4 times, each time we use it, it takes 30 seconds. Limiting the run to A minimum of 2 minutes.

Across the map, we have five separate chemicals. Two are combined, One is to be mixed with water, One is to be combined with code, and the last is to be microwaved. We also have three clipboards with random recipes listed on them. (we need to touch every chemical and clipboard for the run to be valid)

Spawn locations: The perfect run would start directly in front of the Chemical Processor. The likeliness of this happening is A bit on the random side because we have four major spawn areas (area because the location is not static). The Microwave area, The Reverter/Sink area, The Code Combiner area, and finally the Chemical Processor area. 

Material locations: The perfect run would spawn two chemicals above or near the Chemical Processor. From my experience, after resetting A few times, I was able to do something very similar. 

If you take your time and find A good spawn for both the player and starting materials, I recommend not looking at the chalkboard/clipboards at the start of the run and letting RNG take its place. You have about A 10% chance that two of the chemicals are combined with each other. 

Once you get the first Chemical Processor going, you will work on the code combiner, microwave, and water. If you start with the code combiner and microwave, the last chemical will always be the water combination. I recommend doing the water combination next.

At this point you still have two chemical processes left, The first requires two of the created chemicals and the last step requires A water combination. As soon as you are able, start the process with the created chemicals, you can then run the microwave and code combiner to create the keys and you will also need to start the water and bring it to the processor.

Lastly, combine the water with the chemical created from the processor. 

Keep in mind, You can double jump, sprint, throw, and have inhuman reach, so use this to your advantage.

Upon pressing "play" any selected mode (i.e. Beginner, Normal, Etc.) A loading screen will appear. After this loading screen, it will fade to black. Pressing escape (or pause) on this black screen will freeze the game causing the in-game timer to stop, along with pausing shrinking throughout the playthrough. 

This is helpful in every category on speedrun.com. One, in particular, is the “all modes” section. In “all modes” you have to use an external clock because you swap between game modes. This makes the in-game timer void. Usage of this glitch can help prevent the scientist from shrinking too much (especially if you are a slow/beginner runner). 

I see great potential using this method in the Low Gravity and the Tiny mode section of the “all modes” playthrough.

To keep the game non-timer friendly a change has been made in the all modes category. The rules have changed so you just need to record your whole gameplay and add the end times of each mode removing the loading times (because this is different for everyone and could cause you to lose time). Hopeful
