Not sure if this is known, and it isn't really useful as far as I can tell, but it might inspire some ideas.
By starting a Grenade Rampage and exploding a few vehicles, they can explode again during a replay (as long as the replay is long enough, in the video I fail to get a long enough replay twice). If the rampage ends during the replay, the game gives you (30000 - the number of grenades you used) grenades
Nice find. :) An improvement is using F2-F3-F1 right before the explosions. That way, when you press F1, the replay starts right before the explosions. The concept is Adam's find, IIRC. Also, how fast you press the combination does not matter.
"An improvement is using F2-F3-F1 right before the explosions. That way, when you press F1, the replay starts right before the explosions. "
You don't need to press F2 in order to set this up, only if the stored replay under F3 is from a different playthrough.
I misunderstood the trick. Now I get it:
When you start the replay ... ... this happens to burning cars: 1)burn 2)explode 3)burn again 4)explode again (this is what counts for rampages)
... this happens to car wrecks (that haven't yet despawned): they start at 3) immediately
Unfortunately, it is not possible to make a replay where the car is at the end of 3) (=just before exploding a second time).
So the strategy is to have 8 car wrecks around you. As soon as that happens, F3-F1 ; wait 6s or longer ; F2 ; use it in the rampage
Found another way to get the 30k ammo that should work with all rampages.
Start the rampage when you start saving, save, reload, done.
Not 100% true actually. Somehow you can trigger the taxi glitch even if you have loaded the game. I just don't know exactly how or why. This sounds like I am saying this with no basis but I have actually triggered it on a loaded file. SolarBowler has done it as well before me.
I just need to figure out what makes it work on the loaded file and what doesn't.
On another note, I am pretty sure the extra ammo is actually as good as useless in a 100% run so it doesn't matter anyway. But nice find.
