Maya is the best class since Cloud Kill is overpowered on current patch. You'll want to farm xp from mutated Badass Varkids in order to not die later in the run due to level differential. Good luck. There's a good reason people don't run current patch. |

In the console, type "enablecheats" and then "fullyrestartlevel". This will cause the timer to be late on restarting, so you'll lose a couple seconds, so it's best only for practice. If you're on the modding branch, you can use the RestartIL mod available. |

Look at their crosshair placement and replicate it. It also has to do with your framerate, so make sure your game is on Unlimited framerate (and that your rig can get above 60 fps). |

If you encounter the bug with files where starting a new game loads you into a previous save, delete the save that the game is loading you into. For safety, you may want to delete all your save files. You can back them up and reload them for practice. |

That's your opinion. You're not really "sticking it to the man" here, though, since GFB is an indie company. Do what you like, but I doubt anybody will support you pirating this game. |

Forum: Borderlands 2 Thread: Glitchless category Started by: DirkDigglerDirkDiggler |
People say this very frequently and then never do runs. I'm not a mod, but I'd suggest the first step to getting traction for a glitchless category is to do a glitchless run. |
Forum: A Hat in Time Thread: Should there be new run categories? Started by: artman40artman40 |
As a mod, just letting people know: our current way we add categories is people need to actually run them. We're not going to add categories that either only have one runner or remain blank because people think they're a cool idea but never actually run them. |

Forum: Borderlands 2 Thread: COOP 5+ Players Started by: robethrobeth |
Sorry - that actually still doesn't change my answer. I don't believe it should be anything other than a miscellaneous category, much like running with the UCP or ChaoticTeams would be, because it requires an outside modification of the game. The only "modifications" any of us make normally is patching down to an earlier patch. It would be a cool miscellaneous category, though. |

In my opinion, 5+ players shouldn't be more than a meme category, as much as I would like it to be real, just because it requires the use of Cheat Engine to work. |

Forum: Borderlands 2 Thread: trying to rope casual friends into co-op speedrunning Started by: SecretHumorManSecretHumorMan |
For 3p, Gaige/Axton/Axton is the fastest. For 4p, Gaige/Gaige/Axton/Axton is probably close to fastest, the comp could also be Gaige/Axton/Axton/Axton for maximum memes. I doubt Maya in there would help much for any% - she does provide res glitch, but that wastes a TON of stacks if you get first try RNG, because you have to kick at least one person from the game. The 2p record has a few slightly new advanced strats that 3p and 4p don't do, but that's because we did those runs before stuff was discovered. The route is basically the same for all three runs - there's really only a couple places that you split up. 2p will most likely always be the fastest any% category, just because 3p and 4p add enough extra health and spawns to make a small bit of time difference. |

Forum: Borderlands 2 Thread: Speedrun with Krieg Started by: StrifeStrife |
To do Krieg, I believe you should be on 1.8.3, as that's the latest version with infinite ammo and Krieg. He'll only ever be able to get 1 stack of it, so you'll be using scatterguns and longriders. If your game is crashing when you downpatch, that means you're doing something wrong - join the discord and we can help you out. 1.3.1 doesn't have Krieg, though. |

I'm a coop runner, not a solo runner, so I don't quite know for the solo run, but you could check places like Overlook for a better shotgun/extra snipers for crit. You could also check Wildlife Exploitation Preserve for a better amp. |

I've hit a 2:55 and I barely did any skips, I think the only one I did was Bloodwing skip. They're not super important at first. |

Oh - I wasn't arguing that savequitting was a glitch, just that you never have to savequit to get back in bounds unlike in some other games. The patch would matter, though, as far as differing damages - amp damage in 1.1 activates on every bullet instead of being spread out, Cloud Kill on Maya in current patch is wildly overpowered, etc. I'm sure there are others but that's just the main two I know of. The length would bother me, specifically because you'd have to do a lot more farming, because you'd still want to be underleveled, but you still need to be able to kill things and not die. In double runs and all quests runs, you only have to farm Boom Bewm/Bad Maw a couple of times and that's all the farming needed (I think, I don't run either category). It's also not necessarily that the run would be much slower in length, just that it would feel MUCH slower, since you can't do glitches to speed things up. I agree that glitchless takes a different kind of skill, it's just not a skill that any of us are super interested in perfecting. But if you're on console, I think you should absolutely lead the way if you want to in glitchless - make it interesting to us! Do some cool routing! You can always retime your run to remove loads and be competitive, so console doesn't really even lose anything. |

First you'd have to define glitchless, which would be kind of weird. Questions such as which patch? Are out of bounds allowed, since they're technically not glitches (you don't have to save+quit to get back in bounds)? Are dialogue skips allowed? |
