So I'm pretty poor right now, so I can't afford streaming/recording stuff. So my question is, am I allowed to just point a webcam at my tv and record that way? I play on the SNES classic version right now. If this isn't allowed that's no problem and I understand, I was just curious. After typing all this I feel like it's going to be a resounding no as I can't put a timer on screen, I just use the site websplit on my phone to time my splits. Anyway if anyone could let me know that would be great.

You probably are allowed to do that. You can also just use LiveSplit and post the splits with your recorded video.
