Recording and Submitting a run
United States

I’m new to speedrunning this game. I need more clarity on recording and Submitting a run to the leaderboards? I plan to use my elgato hd60, av to hdmi converter, my JP 1.0 cart, super nintendo, and my LG monitor. I plan to use my iPhone stopwatch to time my runs and go back and add it in during editing to sync up the timing with the gameplay.

Is there a question in there that you have? Although I would be curious as to why you would use a timer on your phone when you’re planning on using a capture card and (presumably) recording the video on your PC. It would make more sense to use a standard timer application like LiveSplit if you’re doing that.

I would also be careful with generic AV to HDMI converters, the cheaper it is the more likely it is to degrade your quality and/or introduce input delay or other issues like that. That kinda stuff might inhibit your from playing your best.

I’m on a Mac. The av to hdmi converter I mentioned before, makes the picture quality garbage. I’m now using OBS to window capture my gameplay on Game Capture HD and my timer with LiveSplit One. OBS makes things a whole lot easier than the way I described.
