Hello everyone,

i'm new in here from Canada :)

over the last month i've watched some speed run done by member of your community and it was very fun to see the game of my childhood came back to life. As i still own my old SNES, i've decided to get back to it and why not, try to speed run myself as best as i can. Which at the moment isn't very well ;)

But practice make perfect they say so i'm improving a little.

I've recently acquired a japanese card (because why not ?) and i'm trying to determine which version it is. On the back, the imprinted number are 09 which would point toward a 1.0 version right ? But i've been told that some eBay seller are changing the casing on the card, so it may not mean anything after all :(

As i'm still learning (a lot), i'm not familiar with the Japanese 1.0 "exclusive" bugs (or glitches ? which term should i use ?) so i'm unsure whichbugs/glitches to use to test the card authenticity. So far, i've tried to make the "stair super speed" (how do you call it ??) work, but it doesn't (but it may be me not being able to achieve it) and the "fake flippers" (again is it how you call it ?) which, to my delight, i achieve (yay me !!) but are these glitch exclusive to the japanese 1.0 cards ?? i don't know :(

I know the commentator in the different speed run i've watched did mentioned them, but i don't really remember and aside from watching the speed run all over again, i doubt i would be able to find the correct place in the different video with the information i'm looking for. I've also searched the web, but i guess my search terms are incorrect.

So i'm now asking those who are more knowledgable than i am. How would you test a card to make sure it's Japanese 1.0 ??

If fake flippers works, it is a 1.0 cart.

@Yngwe82 check out Andy's profile. The Video URL might not work due to a twitch change, he probably has it highlighted at his profile, though. Also, there should be plenty runs of that category with input display on (since most of them are done on emulator due to how bufferless clips are much easier on a keyboard).

@Tyloxs You can submit new runs as you improve at the game, and they will override the last runs (and give you a better leaderboards placement). The nice thing about submitting them all is to see the history over time in a year or two. :-)

Hi, I'm a new runner and I have a question. Can Someone give me a link to the Rom for ALTTP Japanese Version 1.0? Much appreciated!

Hello to all! new runner here.

Does the Ganon fight torch glitch work on the wii/wiiu Virtual Console US versions?

If it's the US version then it should work, even on Wii U (as far as I know). Japanese however, is 1.2 and has it patched.

Two questions:

  1. Where do you get the speedrun timer that all the streamers, like SethBling for example, have?
  2. Which category would an Exploration Glitch run count under?

@StarsDown64 To answer your questions in order:

  1. Google "LiveSplit"
  2. Any%

Hi. I'm french and i hope you will understand me. I want to start a run any% with "major glitch". Could you please tell me the rules to be able to submit the run ? Is it official when we submit on this website or do we have to submit in an other place in the same time ? I will use bsnes and a japanese rom (1.0 vers), still okay? I think that i can do it on twitch, but do i have to show ONLY the game, can i show my face and timer as well ? Do i have to record it in a local way too(using fraps for example)? This is my first "official" attempt on this game and i whant to be sure that it will be ok if i brake a record or take a good place in the leaderborad ^^

When i say "rules" i speak about the recording rules not only the game ^^

Local recording isn't required. Stream on Twitch or Hitbox or Youtube or whatever. bSnes is fine. It's good manners but not required to use emulator input display. Timer is preferred. Everything else is optional.

Keep in mind, by the way, that the true Any% is quite difficult to get a time worth posting in. You might want to start with a different glitched category. All Dungeons or No EG.
