A Guitar Hero guitar? Who would be stupid enough to run with a guitar? Kappa Jokes aside, you can run with literally anything you want as long as you don't left+right nor use a turbo |

Forum: Super Mario Bros. Thread: Would it be faster if you did flagpole glitch on 8-2 instead of waiting for bullet bill glitch Started by: FaZeEnderCreeper |
Please stop replying to 3 years old threads. To answer your question, this is specifically the reason why PAL is faster overall. It's not possible on NTSC tho |

Nope, they don't accept new categories anymore. You can always join the Discord and present your idea with a video and see if people are interested in running it tho |

I depends on your emulator. If you use Nestopia, press shift+ a number from 1 to 0. The to load said savestate, just press the number you savestated on |

Although we can't give you a link or a website name because it's illegal, I can tell you that the rom you download should be a .nes file (or a zip file with a .nes in it) and not a .exe. Also, the name should resemble something like Super Mario Bros (World). Last thing, make sure it doesn't have (E) in the name as it is the PAL version which is slower |

There are savestates on every system lol |
Forum: Super Mario Bros. Thread: Category Suggestion: Individual Levels Started by: |
It wouldn't be free WRs. It would just be "who's able to do TAS accel in 31 levels?" Also, it would be extreme pain for mods to retime runs. Imagine just 20 people submitting all 32 levels. That's 640 runs to retime just for 20 players |

The TAS timing is always the 1st frame when you bootup the game to the frame you touch the axe |

Well, if those precious frames would indeed save a framerule, then yes, it would be as important |

So far we saved 1 framerule over the Warpless 8-4 TAS. Idk how much more we'll save tho |

Forum: Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels Thread: 2-1 Flag Despawn Started by: |
The flag despawns because there are too many entities loaded, which prevents the flag from loading. In SMB1, I actually can't really think of any level on top of my head where we might be able to flag despawn (maybe 6-2?). Also, no, you can't clip in the 4-2 warpzone stairs (just like any stairs really), Mario jumps too high |
Forum: Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels Thread: 2-1 Flag Despawn Started by: |
We managed to make it work for A-1 too. We're still trying to figure out 2-2, but it seems impossible. After we're done with 2j, we'll probably look at the only few options we have for SMB1, as the game isn't really stacked with enemies like 2j is. We know it's possible to make it despawn, we just have no idea where would it save time |
Forum: Super Mario Bros. Thread: Question about wall jumping. Started by: MageiusMageius |
To answer your question,: And in 1-2 in this video, you can see that climbing the wall is indeed possible, but no, it doesn't save time |
Forum: Super Mario Bros. Thread: Clone consoles Started by: |
All clone consoles almost don't have the same framerate and can emulate the game differently. There are hundreds of clone consoles out there and there is no way mods can test them all. Also, making a category for the exact same game with the same exact goal? No lol they won't do it |

Forum: Super Mario Bros. Thread: Which hard trick should I learn first Started by: RedHopeRedHope |
Ok unpopular opinion here: you should learn FPG. Not to implement in runs since you can get a low 4:58 without any hard tricks, but more to save runs that have a bad 1-1 underground or even get 4-1 FPG if you slowed down too much in 1-2 |
