Thread: Leaderboard Design Survey

Started by: MetaMeta

I've let my voice be heard about the leaderboards on the regular forums, now the supporter forums, and now this survey. Where is all of this information going and will anything actually be done about it? I'm serious.

@DaravaeDaravae is 100% right, this is stupid.

ELO is allowed to profit, but knowing what's being worked on behind the scenes and when to expect it is absolutely an expectation people should have if you're asking people to pay a subscription service.

I already use third-party tools and extensions that fix the site to the way I want it to look, and I chose to pay for it so that eventually the site will be more usable for people who don't.

But I like my gifs... 😔

But I agree, site performance and UX should always be top priority.

Thread: The Worse Update on SRC

Started by: boldbold

I agree that this being the next major announcement is pretty stupid. There should've been a lot more fixes to come along with a subscription service. But this was something being requested, even if you personally don't want it.

Is there going to be a roadmap of issues being worked on? If there's going to be a subscription service in place, knowing what's being worked on and when to expect it has to be the new standard.

The update that changed all the categories into a single line with an arrow you have to press was bad. I'd like to see all the categories at once with misc categories having their own dropdown like it was previously.
I'm sure you're aware of that criticism, but now I'm paying money to let you know.

Now that ads have been solved, and people who want to support get what they wanted; instead of being uptight about it, why not push for other things?

There could be a lot of other improvements to things like leaderboard functionality. People in the forums have been asking for something like this for weeks now.

Sorry for the necro, but I agree. I did two runs before Stop 'n Swap was introduced. If there was a category for Single Cartridge (Major Skips), I might run it again. But it wasn't that good of a category anyways.

Instead of pushing the community further into wanting alternative sites. They should probably try giving the community alternatives on their own site.

They can still profit, just give the people options to disable it. People are even willing to pay them for the option.

This is genuinely heinous. I'm legit going to stop coming here if this is the future of this website.

Okay. Nineteen Dollar Amazon Card; Who Wants It?
And Yes, Speedrun.com Is Giving It Away.

To be fair, I haven't heard of anybody actually earning cards/codes through surveys. Just seems like a way to boost participation.

Never mind, it was one of my Chrome Extensions messing something up. Crisis Averted. I'll figure out which one it is.

Twitch VODs no longer work in the speedrun.com pages for me. Does anybody else have this issue?

Why are all of these features opt-out anyways? I should really have been asked to opt-in to these features before these updates went public.

I think most of us will agree that the comment situation is still not even close to ideal, since inactive users will still have spammers.

In an ideal world, comments will just be removed outright. But this seems to be a feature that SRC staff seem keen on keeping around.
