@Liv Thanks for assisting. By the way I only mentioned my run as a reason as to why I was bringing itup again since @NTRG had tried previously without contacting the moderator, I'm not that bothered that it's not been verified immediately. Cheers

@Liv Thank you very much for helping us with that situation! Yes, as far as I know, Rastabobby has been the only mod to verify runs and add categorys for over a year now. Could you also up him to Super mod on TrackMania Nations ESWC? He is listed as a standard mod there.

  LivLiv

@darklink94 The reason I didn't touch that particular game is because DivisionX looks to have used the site last week, and so I assume he is able to be contacted on social media. I don't necessarily want to alter a game's moderation unless there is no active moderator available to handle the task. I've whispered Division via Twitch though and directed him towards this particular request.

Thanks @Liv for adding me as a supermod on the other Trackmania games 😃

@Liv Thank you so much

Unfortunately I don't have Twitter, and lost my discord password long time ago. I don't have much time for social media really =(. And the only medias I have are Youtube and Steam (The super mod doesn't have steam or youtube, His youtube account seems to have beem deleted)

I know that the threads are shown to super mods because I super mod some games and I receive a notification when a new thread is created (not always when they are answered) but I do receive notification everytime a new one is created. And I'm pretty sure The super mod has seen it, It's just he hasn't been around on the forum of the particular game long time. If you look, he doesn't have any run on this particular game, and like 90% of other runs are verified by the other mods.

I've talked to @JayTheIdiot on steam. He told me he agrees there are 2 different games on same board and would be good to organize it, but he can't do nothing because Crisco is the supermod of this game.

Hello, my name is manticor5... I did submit a run in the game Three Wonders: Midnight Wanderers, but it seems there is no much activity to the page, no runs. My request is
to be a moderator of the page: https://www.speedrun.com/Three_Wonders_-_Midnight_Wanderers
I would like to add a name category: Co-Op 2 Players. Beat the game is the only category available, and adding that new category would help a lot to the page to rise in popularity, as a Capcom game. I would thank you a lot to accept my request, please.

@manticor5 At this time no, the moderator for the game has only inactive just over two weeks and they appear to be active using twitter. Try reaching out.

Oh no... I don't have Twitter, maybe some whisper to the moderator through Twitch would help =). I will see if I can get an answer, thanks for your comment Dangerless.

Just thought I would say, since the last two requests seem to be centered around having a lack of contact oneself; it is always best to create a twitter (or the necessary social media) for these specific situations yourself, even if you do not intend to use it past that one purpose. It takes less than 2 minutes to do, and is likely going to circumvent a lot of the waiting you're going to have to do in these situations. That, and you can come back to it again in the future if you ever find yourself in the same situation again.

Not having a specific contact method yourself, does not mean that a moderator cannot be contacted. That issue lies with you. One thing to consider is that if you cannot contact other users due to a lack of social media, people also will not be able to contact you.

Hey there, can someone add me as a moderator for Not Tetris 2? (https://www.speedrun.com/nt2). The one mod on there seems inactive and doesn't have any social media listed. I have been able to find his yt through one of his runs posted and I tried posting a message on his community tab, but so far I've seen no response.

Hello. I would like to request to become upped to a Super Mod on Daytona USA https://www.speedrun.com/Daytona_USA
Reason being the previous 2 Super Mods are no longer active (one last online 2 years ago, and other 4 months, with no social media connected to his account).
Back when I joined them to post my own results, I was lucky to be able to get ahold of the more active one of the mods and was able to become a mod myself, but now, I want to make changes and additions to the leaderboards and the other mods are nowhere to be found or contacted.

@Liv I understand that trying alternative ways to find mods in SR.com might be feasible when needed. But it kinda gets out of point like being the "only way" to find them, to make "so mods do moderate".
I mean, a person is a mod, is responsibilty of him/her to keep in touch with community of games that they moderate. At least keep a look once in a while. Otherwise... why becoming a mod in first place? So in a nutshell it means that I'm a mod, it's simply okay for me to ignore game forums for like months and vanish. It will be a problem of those runners of those games, not my problem, since they "haven't found me".

We are all part of Speedrun.com. That's our network. We have to give it credit. We are not Twitter users, not facebook users and stuff... =( We are runners in Speedrun.com. Social medias are kinda personal stuff, So a runner has to go in personal profiles beg for people to come here to take a look on forums that they own and should take care of.
in their private social places. Using twitter, Facebook, whatsapp, skype, call them and stuff... 🙁

Imagine you super mods of the website just forget about this thread here and not giving attention 'unless' someone would have to look for you in your twitters. it would be a mess and the end of the site.

The mod is usually online. I'm pretty sure he has seen the thread in question. He just doesn't want to care at the moment. So nothing wrong with that, one has a life to take care of first, when the inactivity its like for days or couple weeks. It's all understandable,
but when it comes to a month and keeps going... at least the job should be given to other person with just enough experience to solve the problem so forum keeps going =(
You guys would have way less problems to deal with in games in general if this was considered

@WeaponLord Since when is social media "private stuff" ? It is your public profile on the internet meant to be accesible to be, you know, social?
In the time you were writing this post you could also have contacted Crisco on social media since Liv already pointed out he has an active Twitter account listed and that user should easily be able to get back to respond to your question going off from that activity.

Please try and make a substantial amount of effort of contacting moderators yourself before asking for mod here. As you can read above other users who also request becoming moderator also checked these aspects themselves just fine so I want to ask you to please respect our guidelines and make an effort yourself before proceeding in this thread.

Hey! I submitted a game which got accepted an hour ago. In the request for the game I mentioned how the game was in the same series as a game thats on the site. The series got a board created, and both games are under the series, but theres no mod https://www.speedrun.com/ptseries I'd like to be mod, so I can add a logo etc. Thanks!

  LivLiv

@Wipeoutjack7 Didn't verify this request myself, but just due to the subject of those games... probably best these particular requests are sent through the request form. Series don't necessarily need series mods.

I would like to be a mod of the game Thrillville. The current only active mod has been removed for reasons i am unaware and I have a run I would like verified but none of the other mods, have been active for over 4 months and I have no way of getting in contact with them. Thank you.

Well this is going to be awkward.

So the very first game submitted to src was Oregon Trail 5 (I was bad at leaderboard creation back then). A few months after I had the leaderboards, I changed computers, and could no longer run the game. Feeling it was time to break it up, once a couple others had ran the game, I figured it was time to pass it up. So I gave moderator to Baldr (current WR holder) and some guy I won't name cause he got banned the day after I gave him mod.

Fastforward to March 2019, and now I have a way to safely play the game on my new computer and record it. Baldr hasn't been on in 10 months, I shot him a message couple days ago on his twitter (which he has posted tweets since my message, but no reply.) And as I'm writing this, throwing in a run to submit as good measure. I know, a little awkward with it originally being my leaderboard, but I didn't feel ok moderating a game I could no longer run. Now with the ability to run the game safely, and definitely, know a lot more on leaderboard creation.

Cheers,
Cmdr
