Yeah, took me some time to get the game to capture, and like you said it flickers extensively throughout. PSX is a lot more clearer based on Professor_Palmer's run however it's a completely different menu layout and load screens are a lot longer.

I feel for now if you want to use webcam and for the camera to fully show the game then it's an easy verification. But if you want to do screen capture and have graphic issues throughout the game but still show from start to end then it will be verified regardless.

Would it be ideal for runners to have a sub category for the Crystal of Wisdom and/or Land of Ardyl?

Hello. I have a run that is over a month old waiting to be verified however the moderator (https://www.speedrun.com/user/zedmekis) of the game https://www.speedrun.com/Crossing_Souls has been inactive for over a year and no way of contacting them via social media. Looking to become a moderator for the game and for the run to be verified so I can help the game community grow.

I don't do many runs as I don't have a capture card for 3DS, but I do research when I have little available time on creating a Blindfolded route.

Welcome!

Depends if mods are awake. Or if they're focused on other games. I still do my blindfolded routing from time to time but I don't speedrun at all for the game.

Some games take a few minutes, others over a couple weeks. It'll get verified, don't worry.

Thread: Importing Characters / NG+

Started by: TheSmokeCSTheSmokeCS

I know someone will ask this question at some point in the future asking why there isn't a NG+ for games like Undiscovered Realms, The Traitor Souls and The Cursed King.

The reason behind this is that it will be highly unfair for someone that has levelled up for a long time to speedrun the game as compared to someone that has beaten the game once and used that same character immediately afterwards for a run.

However, there will be a new category to be released that will feature NG+. The rule being is that you MUST start the first FATE game on NG, import the same character onto Undiscovered Realm, then again onto Traitor Soul and finally onto Cursed King, completing one game after another. That way it will all be timed as one complete run and any grinding you do for one game can have repercussions on the final time.

If you so wish to, you can use the time that you got for the first FATE game as whatever Any% difficulty you did as a time and then the entire FATE run as another run.

Evidence must be shown of the difficulty that NG uses and evidence must also be shown of the same character being used for each game, as you can't change difficulty when importing characters in the 3 latest games.

Hey, so recently picked this game up from the steam market place. Very fun to play and the speedrun looks simple enough. Just asking if there is any good strats to keep in mind when running the game. I know rocket launchers is good to maximise early on in the game to kill elders quickly but if there's any other tips for this. Here's my first playthough time in game, but streaming wise was about 90 odd minutes.

Hey Alexander, just wanted to let you know that a person by Arturo Garcia made a speedrun almost 2 years ago. I've watched the start of the run to the end of the run and done the timings for them. Not sure if you can manually add a run if they're not part of speedrun.com but the video is

With Pirate the Pirates colony. I feel a more challenging one would be to wipe out the pirates, with ancient danger strategies and using items like tornado generator, orbital targeter and the lances. It is possible to go around the map and clearing them out. Taking out just one you'll have to enforce a rule about restricting any items found in the danger and must be brought or made to add some challenge to it.

99 bottles of beers is a good one though. Focuses more on an individual item just like the devilstrand category.

Not really done a run or done much researching for this category, but having a really good intelligence pawn for researching and a jogger with good social skills to go to settlements and buy the necessary things could be helpful.

Miners are a must as well to mine anything the ore finder spots. Not sure what the needed construction is required to build all of the ship fully but by that time you would have already captured a few pawns from wandering or from prisoner turned colonist.

Depends on the situation, extreme modes may swing in your favor with categories like 20 Healthy Prisoners and Neutralise the Ancient Danger as it provides more pawns and better strategies, however other categories like Build% and gold sculpture can hinder you and set you back a couple of hours due to RNG.

No. You get two modes, non-extreme and merciless. So if you start a peaceful game and change to merciless, it would fall under non-extreme. As well as starting merciless and changing to builder, would still be non-extreme.

Ones that come to my mind on new challenges would be:

- Befriend all Factions (Must show on world map screen before starting the run that there are 2 enemy factions)
- Tame a thrumbo (Tamed by either handling it or wounding it and healing with a doctor)
- Craft a legendary item. (Can be weapon, clothing, furniture or sculpture, so long as it shows that it is legendary)

With the game having so much to do and so much to collect, it would be an interesting concept to have a bingo style speedrun card for people to casually go through, going from the small objectives like grow 100 cotton wool to some more extreme ones like killing a thrumbo.

Personally I don't run the Lite version, but depending on the frame rate of mobiles, I would assume you could have a reduction on the time. In-game time would be difficult due to having to speak to the person before being teleported and finishing the run properly.

So I took some time to organise a discord channel, just to help keep the community, however small we may be, alive and together. Added a few channels to it but feel free to add more. Once current runners are up and active on discord, I'll mod them so at least we can manage it together.

Now I've seen the guide saying that holding your breath for the speedrun can be cancer as it's slow, but what if it's required to pull off moments that require only a couple of frames? For example, this video shows the person using slow mo as an advantage to getting the shots where they need to be to manipulate the targets, granted of course if you were going for a speedrun you won't aim directly at the head and hold off with the slow mo for such occasions. Just wondering what the discussion would be on this and finding out when the best time to use it, or if not at all.

Just to update people. I've been doing a bit more work on the blindfolded% run and managed to progress up to the spider ball. Will try and progress further over the next few weeks/months. I've also done an extensive document of any audio cues and movements that are needed in the run. Hope you enjoy!
