How would that category work? Play until you reach Wilbur? Unlock Wilbur in Shuffleboard?
I'm interested. 🙃

We now have a Tiki minigolf category.

Thread: New any% routes explanation.

Started by: SuperSqankSuperSqank

So recently, the community found out that you can skip the Zurg cutscene in Zurg's world (with the use of menu storage), which saves quite some time. Video:
Because of that, the community has conceived a new any% route where you do Toy Story before Tarzan.

So here's a timing overview:

The Tarzan cutscene (where you free the Apes on Clayton's ship) takes 10 seconds.

The Zurg cutscene takes 10 seconds and then you have the Rex cutscene which takes 7 seconds (17 total).

With Zurg cutscene skip, it takes 2 seconds to skip the cutscene (with perfect menu storage and good menuing) and then you have to watch the Rex cutscene (which takes 9 seconds total).

This is essentially means that if we do the Zurg cutscene skip (and it is executed very well), it saves 8 seconds over not doing it. If we do Toy Story before Tarzan and the cutscene skip is executed very well, it will save one second compared the Tarzan first route.

The issue with this is that the Zurg cutscene skip is pretty hard to do and usually requires a setup. Setting up the skip too slowly loses time and flat-out missing the cutscene skip loses 7 seconds compared to the Tarzan route (even more depending on how long your failed setup was).

Because of this, it is best for newer runners to do the Tarzan route as it is much easier and less risky. The Toy Story first route should only really be attempted by top runners and even then, it is a high risk low reward route which may not be worth it.

That does not look like it should be allowed.

Yes. I put the restriction for Dolphin 5.0 and above for full runs since earlier dolphin builds had faster loads. Any version of the game is fine for ILs.

Started by: MasterLeoBlueMasterLeoBlue

I am aware of the 2 different PS3 models. I just mentioned that I've never tested the game on PS3 so I don't know how it compares to PS2 or GC. It would be faster than PS2 (maybe even GC) although I don't own the PS2 version so I can't test or compare.

Yes it is. I've never tested the game on a PS3 so I don't know how much time that saves over a PS2 (or if it's faster than GameCube).

The legendary Ultra skip in Penguin Mutiny has been discovered!
It doesn't seem to be possible on PC however.

Could I be a mod for The Incredibles: When Danger Calls? I am a moderator for the Incredibles series and the only moderator for that game hasn’t been online in over a year.

I always liked the idea and I wanted it to become a reality although the mods never made it happen. It is their decision at the end of the day.

From what I’m aware of (could be wrong), every character in this game has the same top speed when boosting at maximum speed . Because of this, turning characters are used as they can (well, make tighter turns without sacrificing any significant speed).

I don’t have to power to mod people myself but I will say that this leaderboard needs reformating. The GBA version is currently bundled in on this leaderboard and that version should have its own leaderboard.

When I checked the run, I could never see the mouse teleport to some random position. The spinner snapping back when you begin a run seems to be something which normal happens in the game (it happened in a bunch of other runs I checked including your run) and they did upload an "unedited" version of the run (whether it's 100% real or not, that isn't something someone would do if they faked a run IMO). I agree that no sound is sketchy but I don't think that's enough to call it fake. I personally think it's legit but if I see some legit evidence against it then fair enough. I'll have it verified for now but if there was a definite splice, please include the evidence in this thread so we know why it was rejected.

So a run was recently rejected because there's a possibility that it was spliced. There was no audio in the run so it's pretty difficult to tell if it was legit or not. If anyone wants to look at the original video in more detail and determine whether it truly was spliced or not then feel free.
