Thanks! I'll try it. I'm using the wiki link (https://westofloathing.fandom.com/wiki/Ending) to pick out what's optional vs. not. Looks like it's going to be Looking forward to routing this and trying it! |

I'd like to start routing this, but I need to figure out the rules first. What do you think the criteria for a good ending would be? I'm thinking it would be based on the movie at the end - obtaining the best (or one of the best) texts for each shown slide. From looking at the WoL wiki, I think the criteria would be There are several other slides that CAN be shown, depending on circumstances, so the run would also need to avoid situations that add to the slideshow unless what you're adding is also positive (like Buffalo Bufallo Buffalo Bill opening his restaurant). Since it's based off of the slideshow, ending would be at the end of the slideshow, which would also encourage avoiding sidequests. What do you think of this definition? Is there anything that you would add? Does it sound OK to make a good ending that doesn't include helping all of the optional NPCs? |

Thanks for sending! I'm looking forward to trying it. I'm wondering about one difference between Switch and PC versions. On PC/Mac, if you open the menu at the right time after selecting a character, you glitch-slide out of bed instead of slowly standing up. Does that work on Switch? I didn't see it on your run, but it's easy to miss - I tried and failed on my posted El Vibrato run. If you want a successful example of that bug, look at Punchy's speedrun of the game here |

Nice work on this run! This looks fun. Would you be willing to send me your guide to the run? I can try it on PC/Mac. I would like to hear from a mod on this one, but I think it's fine to end as soon as you activate the bell. There's nothing afterwards but dialogue until you see the end-of-DLC message, so I think it's similar enough to the ending cutscene in main quest runs to be excluded from the time. |

Here's my best recorded run so far. I made some changes to the route and now it's only 15-16 minutes (if RNG luck for items, finding locations, and XP goes smoothly). If this becomes a category and/or if anyone else wants to try it, I'd be happy to post the full guide. I'd be especially interested if anyone wants to try optimizing the route more. Also, I know the video quality is terrible, but it's the best I know how to do on my old computer with free programs right now. Maybe it can provide some comedy, at least. |

Is anyone still interested in doing this? I have a route that takes 17-20 minutes (this category depends on some random items, unfortunately), but no streaming equipment for recording. If someone's interested, I can post my walkthrough in the guide. |
