you should be able to use youtube's video editor to cut out a highlight on your phone. but if you don't have any other way then yeah just provide time stamps |

i'm not against it...i re-time every run i verify anyway so lul i'm all for accessibility in runs. just please don't submit the entire stream lmao if you could cut out the run and just submit that. that'd be great @JrRebel1984JrRebel1984 |

to help with the new start time you can set a 14 second offset on your splits and start them when the "hold to skip" disappears on the cut-scene and it'll start the timer when you gain control. =) |

splits will always be inconsistent to a degree. i don't see an issue with ending the time where it ends now...personally though i would like to change the starting split to "on character control" but that's just me. i see splits as more of a visual representation for viewers than anything else. mod's are gonna frame count your run anyway so it doesn't really matter...i don't like having dead time in a run if it can be avoided. but that's just how i feel about it. hope you're having fun playing! |

just fyi, MISTer has it's own platform tag on here. just go into "edit game" and under platforms click "show obscure platforms" and it's there. |

so i've been doing some testing on SNES emulation and i figured i'd would expand the research into the castlevania community and also take a better look at the anniversary collection. the first test i did was a demo test and these are the results of that. DEMO TEST Anniversary Collection(PC): Bizhawk: BSNES: SNES9X 1.54: Hardware: and as you can see everything seems to be relatively alright. 9x of course is slower and it even says that the anniversary collection is a tad slower...now here's where shit gets real whacky. the lag tests... The Timing: https://imgur.com/fIYcxDm WHIP OUT Bizhawk: BSNES: SNES9X 1.54: Hardware: and i even did the same thing but without the whip just to see what happened. The timing: https://imgur.com/zU4DAxR NO WHIP Bizhawk: BSNES: SNES9X 1.54: Hardware: so at this point it should be apparent to anyone with eyes that the anniversary collection does NOT handle lag the same as anything. hell even 9x does a better job at being accurate LuL but just to be sure i went and did another lag test on stage A...and oh boy... you'll see LuL The timing: https://imgur.com/KGDFP3K NO WHIP Bizhawk: BSNES: SNES9X 1.54: The timing: https://imgur.com/HHNnCHe WHIP OUT Bizhawk: BSNES: SNES9X 1.54: i am still waiting on additional hardware footage for these tests but i think that's fucking irrelevant at this point. also getting some nintendo switch collection footage to see if there's a difference(i doubt it). so my initial purpose of doing this was to show that BSNES and BSNES based clients(like bizhawk, it runs on a bsnes core) are much better for running than snes9x is...and i know you're probably thinking, well what about the later versions? well i have done testing on the later versions for other games and they're about the same..if not worse the later the version..so thats irrelevant too. you can inspect the other testing i've done for SNES emulation in these forums here. King Of Dragons: https://www.speedrun.com/the_king_of_dragons/thread/fgckq MKI: https://www.speedrun.com/mk1/thread/6g5uu MKII: https://www.speedrun.com/mkii/thread/jrc20 MKIII: https://www.speedrun.com/mk3/thread/neia4/1#b73oa UMKIII: https://www.speedrun.com/umk3/thread/54xsc/1#0832b in short, BSNES should be the standard for SNES emulation and not 9x..i am not trying to get 9x banned..i obviously don't have the power to do that anywhere on the games i've tested. it is inaccurate but it's not that bad....not anywhere near as bad as the collection seems to be here. what this community decides to do with the info i have provided is up to you all and i will be doing tests on dracula X as well to prove my point. all hail BSNES! the superior snes emulation, if you play via emu there's nothing better baby =P also i will have the other video's and stuff up as soon as i have them. wanting to hear the communities thoughts on this and if you have any questions or concerns, you know where to find me. |

so i recently did some testing on a couple of emulators for king of dragons on snes and discovered that SNES9x is not as accurate as everyone thought. it's not off by much but you can view all my findings here https://www.speedrun.com/the_king_of_dragons/thread/fgckq however bsnes and bizhawk seem to run about the same as hardware. i did some demo tests for mk1 just for clarification and these were the results The Timing: https://imgur.com/IdtlGAb BSNES Demo Footage: Bizhawk Demo Footage: SNES9X 1.54 Demo Footage: SNES9X 1.60 Demo Footage: MISTer Demo Footage: Hardware Demo Footage: i will also be submitting comparison's like this for the other mk games on the snes so that bsnes and bizhawk can be allowed for runs. what the mods decide to do about the 9x runs or the emu itself is up to them...it's not a huge difference. but it is innaccurate would like to hear the community's thoughts on this! although i am not particularly a fan of enforcing having to show the window of the emu i would be in favor of it being an option to do so. totally fine with showing inputs, i use a input display all the time =P |

hello, i am spriven and i have been working with a few people in the community to run some tests on some emulators to see if they run this game properly. these are my findings: so for these tests i had 3 people record 3 different instances of the game's demo running on hardware to see how they ran. Hardware: https://imgur.com/1AO6JQG Teleo: Seige: Nester: these are the hardware recording's if anyone would like to check them out and run their own tests. here's the demo recording's from bizhawk SNES9X 1.56: https://imgur.com/AKEFm5J i will also note that i tried two other versions of snes9x, 1.53 and 1.60. here's the demo's and finally BSNES V115: https://imgur.com/mosfFOP BSNES Demo's: at this point i pretty much stop running tests on SNES9x and we decided to do some lag comparison's on the hydra fight between hardware and BSNES to see how well BSNES and Bizhawk handled it. i came out pretty much what it should be: https://imgur.com/c8mDVAx BSNES vs Hardware: Bizhawk hydra lag test: with these findings i and others in the community feel that with these tests it proves that BSNES and Bizhawk are capable of running the game properly and accurately. therefor should be accepted on the leaderboard for SNES runs. if anybody has any questions, opinions, thoughts etc.. please post them here and we can address them. |

so just throwing this thought out here...should we split the arcade version from the snes version via leaderboard extensions or a whole other board? i ask because someone brought up why there's no extra categories for arcade with different difficulty settings and i have been interested in making a hard mode arcade category for any% and 1cc. but i don't want to clutter up the main board and it's already kinda of overflowing at the moment with the co-op categories being in misc. i think that either doing extensions or another board would help keep everything nice looking and we could add the extra categories with no issue wanting to hear the community's thoughts. |

yea well high level runs don't typically worry about it much. there's the book in the first level that has a 50/50 shot of just giving you the super sub-weapon and final upgrade at the beginning...the issue then becomes keeping it |
