You come here 6 months later with a shitty ass bump stating that I am apparently a "douchebag" and saying that "I think I believe I'm funny for it"?
What kind of bullshit fantasy ass world do you live in where you think it's right to create the fake narratives in your head and slander people over for it?

Seriously.
All I was doing was referring to the last time an emulator became defunct and new (slower load) shit took its place, but people overcame that difference.

Since it was such a bloody old reference two of you unfortunately don't understand what I was referring to, this is why AQLGamers decided to do a mocked response with the lack of knowledge.

If you're here to be actual dicks about it, get lost.
Cause these comments show that you have the lack of knowledge and understanding.

Also for your information, I try to be as proper, blunt and forward as possible without considering to take the time to be funny DarkLizzard.
Down to the point where people believe that I'm having a laugh when I'm not, that on the observers who make incorrect judgements on situations, such as yourself.

Originally posted by NattyI don't think we need to allow more than one emulator either, regardless of the rules on the main Crash boards (and make sure mods update the CTR rules accurately if/when a decision has been made).

That's a hard agree I personally have with, some other things are going to be done soonish™ for the broader range, but focusing on the narrow field that is CTR which is a lagish game, and is dependent on a few things, allowing freedom of what you choose as your choice is completely fair for the community.

Especially when you can back it up in that narrow field.

And srcom decided to update their entire site... cool.
Not getting feedback about what done is also great.

Recently trying to get in contact with YetiHype to also exchange moderation to runners of the game, and people of the community.
Just so people know what's happening.

Unfortunately, the best way in regards to ILs is either to make 4 new tables (which makes it messy), or to sub-category them but that would only show Single Player runs as the priority.

As for full game runs, I did just adjust it for it to be separated and that should work.
It's just for ILs I need more people to actually assist me there, and actually help out.

You can see a test on ILs at The Prison Break.

Wait you're saying that a more accurate core/emulator has more accurate loading times? I'm completely shocked. /sarcasm

You know this is the exact same case when runners were using psxfin as their main emulator of choice?
And look at where that sits now these days in terms of comparison. It's the same "logic" on a different emulator, improve running the game yourself instead of complaining about emulation differences.

They weren't listed initially cause iirc those languages weren't listed on Steam originally.
Since they now are (or I'm blind from the past) the languages are now selectable.

@AQLGamersAQLGamers if you're going to use the rules I set out you better unban BizHawk for the reasons I already gave you cause having the "cause it's a TAS emulator" excuse is pretty bullshit when I already debunked the reason for it.
(Aka, stop preaching my stuff if you're going to ignore my stuff.)

- - - - -

Anyways. I ain't going to argue not doing the emulation/console split mainly due to y'all having that set out already in your style, but I'll give the explanation to emulation rules update, since it's practically my stuff being referenced.

To keep simple: The emulation update is admittedly to hit it on the knees and to make it slower than real world console loads, some of the emulators chosen, does have the lag advantage, and heck mednafen actually "fakes" lag in some cases, best example is compare a simple straightforward walk in Resident Evil Survivor.
It's to incentivize runners in getting the console to participate in the game after learning it through.

Thread: Why Duckstation is not allowed?

Started by: squallsoadsquallsoad

(edited: )

It's an emulator that doesn't focus on accuracy.

Yes, it's good for casual use, and it's specifically designed with lower end systems in mind.
However due to it being an emulator that doesn't focus solely on accuracy it shouldn't be considered for use in the speedrunning scene.

---

"DuckStation is an simulator/emulator of the Sony PlayStation(TM) console, focusing on playability, speed, and long-term maintainability. Accuracy is not the main focus of the emulator, but the goal is to be as accurate as possible while maintaining performance suitable for low-end devices. "Hack" options are discouraged, the default configuration should support all playable games with only some of the enhancements having compatibility issues."

---

Edit; It now mentions that they are an emulator that aims for accuracy now. This is going to be rain-checked for about a year to see how mature it can get. It does help that some of the code being used is from mednafen.

Click on the image of the controller and keyboard on the status bar (left of the person) cycle that around to Keyboard.

You mean the other communities that I'm apart of and that they have adapted from me?

Anyways since it has been a year since this topic was originally written up I'm just going to write soon™ for what the console moderators are doing.

---

Edit: Also despite the fact that you adapted what I wrote you banned BizHawk.
You shouldn't be banning BizHawk "cause it's a TASing emulator" when you have the rule I placed "When streaming/recording a run you must be able to capture the window to show what emulator is being used."

You do know that when you capture the window this very specific rule on BizHawk the status bar is visible and can be used to call out when a TAS file is being used right?

When streaming/recording a run you must be able to capture the window to show what emulator is being used.

BizHawk is able to display the status bar below the game window. That must be displayed.

RetroArch will has specific requirements below. You are able to run without showing the window.

You must also state what emulator is being used when submitting your run.

Accepted Emulators:
XEBRA
BizHawk 2.4.1 or newer [Recommended]
mednafen
RetroArch (Beetle/Beetle HW)

BizHawk Setup:
Games can only run under the cue format.
• PSX > Options
• Select either mednafen mode option.
• Deinterlace the image is allowed. Select Bob in the same window.

• Config > Speed/Skip > Audio Throttle [Important for 2.5 Users]
To verify that you are running with Audio Throttle enabled you must hit the increase/decrease speed keys [plus/minus] it will display a message on screen.

RetroArch Dedicated Rules:
You must show settings of the core settings before/after the run.
Your settings must match this:
• CPU Dynarec: Disabled (Beetle Interpreter) [Default]
• Cycles: 128 (Default)
• GTE Overclock: Disabled
• GPU Overclock: 1x (native)
• Skip Bios: Disabled.
• Access Method: Synchronous
• Loading Speed: 2x (native)
• PAL (European) Video Timing Override: OFF
Recommended: Keep PGXP Disabled
Custom settings are allowed for anything that isn't mentioned such as resolution.

For questions be sure to join the Discord.

For the quick answer on "why did we drop ePSXe?"
That emulator for PC has not been updated in 4 years and despite being the "most accurate emulator"^ it relies on plugins compared to the other four options.

^Due to being closed source, it was able to get away with faking the scores on the PS1 Test Suite. Games that are tested to what ePSXe states it "passed" has outright failed.

---

Additional Note:
Even though this was focusing on Emulation on PC POPs on PS2 was brought up and I'll quickly go over that.
POPs is acceptable for the first two titles as long as you mention you're using it and if you provide the IGT.
It's outright banned for Tekken 3 for the time being due to the strong visual glitches, if that gets fixed I'll make an update about it.

Not contacting in the first place is the crux to this.

What so you don't expect people to be human and make mistakes sometimes, even if they've been moderating a series pre-srcom?

Also what about all my other comments I made? That was literally my last bit.

Originally posted by ShikenNuggetsI don't know a single self-respecting moderator who would reject a run literally just because they're not in a good mood.

I mean there's moderators on the boards that will outright lock the threads for no justifiable reason when a topic is going on questioning how the moderators are handling the game. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

And instead of trying to actually contact the moderator in question, or moderators for a "what's up?" you created this instead and to top it off you took to twitter you never contacted the moderators first. Your outburst isn't justified.

Always see if you can contact the moderators and see what's up first before you make an outburst.
Because they work together to actually prevent this from happening when another moderator spots it.

And who knows, one of the moderators could've been having a bad day with nothing but having to reject a lot of runs, and they hit yours saw where your timer stops, saw the gameplay and got annoyed at it.
