Hi, toca already talked about this but the mod for The Night of the Rabbit deleted his account and there is no mod left on that board. Could i be made mod since I have a pending run and also mod a similar game from the same developer 🙂.

Thread: Global Stats Page?

Started by: SolidSolid

(edited: )

I just noticed that the Global stats page is missing and I can't find any references to it being removed anywhere. Is this just a glitch or did this happen and I just missed it and can't find anything about it? or am I just stupid and can't find it?

I agree.

There are also many alternatives to a sr.com leaderboard anyway. If you really wanted a leaderboard you can do what they did for Mr. Krabs overdoses on Ketamine or something like that where you make your own in a spreadsheet.

As he said, no point in reigniting it.

oh, I thought it was some sort of glitch that gives you an infinite boost. I'll specify it in the rules since that would kinda defeat the purpose of the boost mechanic.

I feel like disallowing boost madness is too specific for a separate leaderboard and would actually rather just add a boost less leaderboard. Do you think that would be a good idea?

Also to the quick event or time attack matter, I feel like that isn't necessary since everyone has access to both and from the way you described it seems like quick even has a high risk, high reward factor which balances it out imo

well, I would agree if we would be talking about any% category but sadly we aren't. This is like you saying that any speedrun category which is only part of a game not being valid since "the game still continues afterward" There are many games that don't have an any% category at all.

Although I notice I am now only arguing because I can and it won't lead me anywhere. You guys already had a discussion internally and I assume the decision is already solid (hehe).

is the message that pops up when you finish the tasks not enough as a defined ending?

I also have one hypothetical question. If the Among Us Freeplay mode would be a standalone game, still related to the original but for some reason released separately would you still reject it, or would you except it?

I also want to quickly add that Among us is not 100% PVP and Freeplay has a definitive start and end. But tbh at this point, I'm just beating a dead horse since no matter what I say you think it is and I doubt any random runner especially me could change them. And tbh I think the main change people want isn't even changing the rules since I agree that most people probably don't read them anyway but what I want and what would also stop more posts from being made is having better rejection notes. It's not even that hard. If Among us really just gets requested so much just have something more than 7 words as the reason and just copy-paste it in.

That is after all the whole reason I made this thread in the first place.

Also, I fully agree with the last paragraph of what @goadirothgoadiroth said since it just adds salt to the wound and gets people angry and makes thread like this so long and annoying. Could you imagine if instead of some sassy, sarcastic bullshit I would get a well-writen explanation as to why? This Thread would have only had like 3 messages max.

ok sorry, I completely forgot that PMs are a thing now since I still remember the "coming soon" which was always there. So sorry for causing a problem with it. Then that mess of the other thread would have never been a thing and would have been avoided.

Sorry

I feel like this is much needed since every time I had a question specifically for the mods and made a forum post about it a bunch of random people start chiming in and it usually devolves into just people arguing which is neve the intention.

It's like making a support ticket on twitter or something but instead of getting an answer you just get shit talked by non-mods.

I feel like this could be a really useful feature to the site since you can make it like a forum but only mods can see it and the person that made the post/ticket. in that way, you could also mod it more and avoid spamming of a forum with the same topics over and over by having a FAQ that people must read before making a post/ticket and if they make a post anyways it can just get deleted without having a massive discussion that leads nowhere.

ik this would be difficult to add but I think it would really contribute to the health of the forums and stop a lot of pointless arguments from happening.

Idk how to quoute but this is what a content mod specified earlier in this thread if you are too lazy to go back and read it yourself

"The issue is not in the category you are requesting being singleplayer, it's in the fact that 99% of the games popularity is in multiplayer. For example, the Overwatch leaderboard use to just be speedrunning the tutorial (also not a very good speedrun and would not be added onto the site with new rules) and there was no PvP categories, but over time they added more and more that were PvP related.

So the issue isn't with the run itself being a singleplayer run, but with the games community more than likely adding multiplayer categories over time.

And yes, site mods know it exists and have had lengthy discussions with other members of the speedrun community who have made the same arguments and claims as you have been."

This does not get specified in the rules clearly

Ok, I'm sorry I have to say this again. Especially for people like @LonneLonne who have obviously not fully read this thread.

The submission I made and what this whole thread is about in the first place is that even tho the category I submitted isn't a PVP related activity. Most of the game still is and that's why they rejected. I believe they should specify this in the submission rules. Since their worry is that PVP categories get added retroactively. Please just go to page one of this thread and read what the Content Moderator said since what you said has literally not contributed anything.

oh ok. Well, at least now I know.
Although I do want to add I swore on my speedrun account on my submission that I wouldn't add any multiplayer categories to the leaderboard retroactively I do realize that that doesn't really change the outcome at all. Although I do think that would be a good workaround to have the best of both. Just like with when you notice that someone added a game not part of a series you would revoke his moderator rights you could make it a rule that if a mod retroactively adds a multiplayer category that category gets removed and the person themselves gets their moderator rights revoked.

Although I assume that has already been thought of and decided against.

That is also why I made this forum post in the first place since that is what I was worried about and wanted to see if the moderators knew this existed and if it would maybe change the situation

If your interested and you have the game (it is free on mobile after all) in the menu screen if you press Freeplay you get to this mode and its completely singleplayer
