I Own A 90000k Japanese PS2 and my best time was with a 45 second mistake is 1:22:29

I submitted my 1st run last night FYI...

And yes I've been watching various runners including yourself run this game over the past 2 years before you make anymore comments...

Isn't the PSP store closed now which in essence now makes 'grinding' a world record impossible on PSP/PSTV for anyone who was not able to download a digital copy beforehand? (Mainly the European region)

How is that now fair on the newer runners/future runners?

Isn't that now a pay to play speedrun for the fastest time?

If You Do Decide To Add Emulator To The Boards It Should Be 100% Seperate Without Argument

I Have A Suggestion To Make The Boards Fair.

Go And Have A Look At The Parasite Eve 2 Leaderboards

Look At The Consoles And How They're Separated

Its Really Fair On There

Everyone Has A Chance To Get A World Record Or A Good Time On Their Respected Console/Emu

This Saves Soy Boys Like Me Getting Salty

In The Parasite Eve 2 Community The Duckstation Emulator World Record Is Currently Slower Then The PS2 World Record

I've Personally Tested Duckstation (Not Yet On This Game) But On Tenchu, Parasite Eve 2 And I Think Apocalypse

And Found That The Emu Was Slower

On A Side Note... Theres New Strats That Have Been Done On Emulator That Havent Yet Been Implemented On Console So...

World Record Can Still Be Got On All Versions Of PS2s

This Game Is Very Weird To Run On Console And Sometimes On Emulator (I've Watched Your Runs) It Doesn't Even Work On Some Consoles

This Game Has Been Tested On 90000k, 90001k (NTSC U), 90004k And I Believe 90006k (The 90000k Series Models Are Considered The Fastest)

Personally For Me I've Found That The 90001k Loads The Fastest (Which Could Be Considered As Unfair) (I Also Run Final Fantasy 9 Which The 90001k Is Considered The Meta For The Load Times)

When I've Ran The Japanese Version In Particular On The 90000k Myself I've Found That The Load Times Aren't Great Overall

When It Comes To Emulator Its The Same Issue... I Find That The NTSC U Version Loads Way Faster Then Any Japanese Version I've Seen Which Again Could Be Considered As Unfair

As For Improving The Load Times There Is No Real Fix

Looking To Start Running New Game Any% On Emu And Wondered Which Emu Was Best To Use.

From what I've seen of games/runs using the PSTV (ie MGS1, PE1) they always seem to run fastest on the PSTV... I know for a fact that the PSP runs poorly... not so sure about the Vita... as for which version runs fastest (NA/JPN) i don't know... I find that the controller configuration is much easier on the NA version then it is JPN though

Can't believe I'm saying this... I now don't think No Item Box should be a speedrun... the 100% Route is just too long and unnecessary... it feels more like a challenge run if anything

Having To Backtrack Through The Mansion 4 Times Is Just Not Worth It

Yes it's possible with Chris... going to try and route out 100% tonight with both characters

Besides many people might think that Chris is harder to do any% on... I found it to be way easier even with 2 less inventory slots

I've already got the shot count down for bosses on real survival any%

May add that the way you ditch/use keys are different as well

I'll use livesplit when I do it to see how significant the routing changes

I need to try out 100%... Never got round to routing that to see if it's even possible

I've Been Trying Out 'No Item Box' Casual Playthroughs/Speedrun Routing... It Has Significant Changes To Normal Speedruns ie Spider Fight Is Before Yawn 2... Pick Up The 2 Books Just Before Lisa etc

I Would Genuinely Like To Know If People Would Be Interested In Making This A New Speedrun Category?

Right im confused... times on here are submitted by IGT right? Here's My Issue... I've just set a time on Claire A (Now Up For Debate) On A Japanese PS2 And I'm Now(According To My Livesplit 1 20 25)But My IGT Says 1 21 33 <---- I Know For A Fact That Shouldn't Be Saying That... I've Also Had Issues With My PBs With My Leon A Runs With My Livesplit Bein Better Then My IGT (That 1 20 25 Is Now Apparantly 2nd Place) Can Someone Claify This For Me Please? Also Fast Disc Speed Is OFF... Does That Need To Be On?
